I want to make a reservation for 9 days using points. I am a member level so I can make reservation 12 months out. Using the when can I reserve tool on the MVC site it gives me a date to make the reservation for the date I want and it says I can make 7 or more days reservations at this date. The date it gives me actually covers 7 possible reservation start dates running from Tuesday to Monday (or could have been Wed to Tues). If I select the earliest start date it allows me to reserve up to 13 days. If I select the latest start date in the most current 12 month week it only allows 7 days at the regular points price. Is this correct? This isn't an issue at a low demand resort making a reservation less than 12 months. However at a high demand resort (Ko Olina) in this case I need to make sure I get what I want.

When you say member level, do you really mean 'Owner' or 'Select'?

I don't think the when can I reserve tool calculates the point premium for longer than 7-night stays made by an Owner level owner.

Yes I mean Owner. I noticed now on the "When can I reserve tool they call it member"...Ive concluded when using that tool it says for reservations 7 days or more. However it really should say for reservations 7 - 13 days depending on which day during that time period you make your reservation. Not including the premium time.

I'm confused by this. Your desired points stay is 9 consecutive days in the same resort/size/view unit, isn't it? Why not just use the tool to determine the opening date of the 12-mos Reservation Window for your desired check-in date of the 9-day stay, so that you can reserve the entire stay at the window opening without a points premium?

What SueDonJ said...it's only the start date that matters...the fact that your reservation bleeds into "premium" window doesn't matter as long as it's a continuous single reservation.
