Plus points question

Hi All,

I have some plus points that I want to use for a few reservations. I would like to know if they are treated any different from regular points when it comes to cancelation.

Here's why I ask...I booked using plus points at Timberlodge last month. I vaguely remember seeing some statement like...if I cancel within 60 days the points are forfeit (not placed into a holding account). I honestly didn't pay a whole lot of attention because I was already on the property at the time, making a same day reservations, with zero chance of canceling. With the reservations I am making now, the chance of cancelation is very high. I'm okay with a holding account but I don't want to lose the points.

FYI my points say "MVCD FDB Plus Points Exchange"

I have the same question- not sure what "MVCD FDB Plus Points Exchange" are, and what governs their use.
 
FDB stands for First Day Bonus, which usually means you received these plus points as an incentive with a points ownership purchase. Is this correct? Plus points operate the same way as regular points when it comes to reservations in Abound/Marriott. However they can't be banked or transferred to another owner.

The forfeit language would suggest a 13-month reservation for 7 days+ made with a 20% points premium for an Owner benefit level owner. The points used for the 20% premium are forfeited for cancellations within 60 days of arrival, regardless of the type of point used. The remaining points from the reservation would be in a holding account.
 
OP here, now with a couple years under my belt. My experience is that plus points were never treated any differently from any other points.

I think kozykritter is spot on. We are chairman’s level, so it must just be a generic disclaimer that may or may not apply to a particular owner and reservation.
