Hey

Do we know if they drop at regular times? My platinum membership is ending soon and I'm wondering if I'll renew. Can't remember how often they run those.

They tend to drop a couple of times per year. The last one was early March, so my guess is it will be Aug or Sept before the next one.
The sightings forum might have info on when they have been historically.
@marmite do you know more?

I wonder - is there some info on what sort of deals they offer - I kind of just joined II and didn't necessarily see value in Platinum.

This is the only picture I could find from early 2019, so prices are not current. Typically this is the format, inventory is very limited, can be some good stuff if you can be flexible.

In addition a small amount of inventory is available via getaway as Platinum priority, probably less than 10%, I've not got the hang of what resorts but there have been some for early Sept across a number of different locations.

I would say about 3 times a year. Just about quarterly but not including mid June through mid August.

Doing a search for "Escapes" in the title of threads in this forum, I see 2022 it looked like they had the Platinum Escapes sale in at least February and October. This year we booked two in early March. We've noticed that Marriott resorts are uncommon. If they are there it is usually studio units. Orlando usually has a lot of Westgate properties, but don't book that trash. Hopefully that prevents other people from booking them and driving up prices ;). You will find a lot in Mexico and the Caribbean will be mandatory all-inclusive resorts. There may also be a number of Vegas or Palm Desert resorts out there. In general, think the leftovers of the leftovers.

Your Platinum membership will need to be valid through the end of any travel dates you book with it via Platinum Escapes ( or any other Platinum benefit like the $50 off Getaways) so that might make your renewal decision easier.

Interestingly, one benefit of Platinum (and Gold) that doesn't require the membership to be valid through travel is the lower price for unit size upgrades. Those are priced based on your status at the time you pay the upgrade fees.

I didn't even know about the discount on upgrade fee. I was wondering why I only had to pay $59 for the upgrade from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom for a Marriott in Park CIty for this coming winter. i had some getaway weeks I booked for friends this past year so decided to do the upgrade as it was cheaper than paying for all the guest certificates.

Is this targeted to only certain Platinum users?

Just got off the phone with Interval. They are saying that Priority View is the Platinum Escape as per below. Based on older threads, I thought it would be where it said Platinum Members slashed and it would say platinum escape. IDK, maybe agent just wanted me to get off the phone.

No, the Platinum Escapes look like this. The escapes only look to be for the next 30 days. I don't see them beyond February 3rd.

Have you tried accessing them through your "DEALS" tab? It should be at the far right of the menu bar that runs across the top of the website. Then hold your mouse over the destination photo and a "search now" button will pop up. Should look something like this...

@Danlop88

When I go through the platinum escape tab for Orlando, it prepopulates 1/10-2/3 as the dates.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I called again referencing @dioxide45 screenshot and this time confirmed there was an issue. They created an IT ticket which should resolve the issue for tomorrow. They apologized for the previous agent information.

I was looking at some of the Escapes, they are a far cry from what they have been. In the distant past they were slamming deals (with the exception of the AI's). Although they were generally only $150 off the platinum price, the cost of the getaways were on the lower side. In the last year or 2, I think they have put the platinum escapes on weeks that weren't especially well priced to begin with but it was still $150 off that platinum rate. Today, I was looking at some of these and it is a $50 off the regular platinum getaway which only puts it at $100 less than the cost for a standard member. A 2 BR April mud week in Park City is $1097 and the platinum escape is a $997.

Agreed, same as their sales and promotions that they run through the year. The last best one I had was in early Dec 2023 with 50% (max $200) off a getaway if I set up an ongoing search. I'm waiting to see if the accom cert promos for depositing come back in the next couple of months for 2026 weeks.
