I was able to exchange into The Point at Poipu (HVC) using 10,000 WM Credits which is about $1100 in MFs (about $4-5K to rent via Hilton). The maintenance fees there are $2600+. I'm pretty happy with that. I just setup a ongoing search for 2027. I might consider expanding my WM holdings if this continues to pay off for me.
Kauai is experiencing a worker shortage especially regarding the lower paying tourism sector jobs and construction jobs. Kauai is also experiencing more people moving out than moving in. Another problem is the people that are moving to Kauai are more the retired type than the younger skilled workers.
Our scuba guides lived in the lot across the street from Sea Sport Divers in Poipu. They slept in their cars. A asked a couple of them why they live like this. They said they move around a lot and would only be in Kauai until they were bored with the area. Free diving in a way.
I would be funny to hear a hotel or construction worker speaking as enthusiastically.
On our first trip to Kauai our Guide for a 4 Wheel Tour lived in a Tent in the middle of an Orchard. He helped take care of the Orchard. He would take the Bus from the Orchard to the Tour Office. Many of the folks we have talked to that worked in the tourist trade while visiting the Islands worked 2 or 3 jobs.

I know similar types of tourist dependent workers and they really enjoy what they do and they do earn decent pay. I kind of doubt anyone really enjoys cleaning up or waiting on tourists for mediocre pay.
