Hi ~

In the most recent Pinon Pointe newsletter, the board president wrote:

Due to a dramatic increase in tourist traffic, with more than 3.5 million visitors annually, the City of Sedona embarked on a Transportation Master Plan, known as Sedona in Motion. As I have communicated in my previous President’s letters, the City embarked on a plan to extend Forest Road behind our property through the Coconino National Forest and connect it to State Route 89A. Your Board sought and received compensation from the City for the common areas of our property as well as the negative impacts on the value of our property.

Has anyone heard how this compensation might impact/offset our yearly maintenance fees?

Thanks!

And if interested, here is the video on Sedona in Motion:

Thank you for sharing the video. Interesting to see how their plan will work. We love the resort and area, so hopefully this does help alleviate some of the back up in traffic.

They recently released the audited financial statements and reflected revenue from “Settlement Proceeds” of $450,000. I haven’t heard anything specific, but it should offset some costs incurred. They are spending money to research potential gating to keep cars from cutting through the resort.

Really interesting concept and video. I didn't hear anything about a potential time line for all of this. I imagine it is going to take quite a while.

We were there this past April/May, and they are making really great progress on the road around the resort.

I suspect that during the construction it is going to result in a nightmare to drive around the Y.

It wasn't too bad this past April/May, as they are on the tail end of that section around the Hyatt :)

OMG, it felt like decades of construction when they put the traffic circles in. We were so glad when that was finished. We went annually for many years, with fall of 2019 being our last trip. We never encountered traffic that would warrant more construction. Usually went summer and fall.
