We went to a Club Wyndham owner update the other day in PCB. I know I can't believe much of what is told but do want to verify some stuff I was told is in fact false. Since we own two 2BR Marriott weeks, they tried pushing us on PIC Express in that we could get Silver VIP status. I know this isn't a very good option and PIC Plus is better. But this is what they tried to tell us.

  1. PIC Express is good for five years, but you can renew it at the five year mark. They just want to verify that you still own the week and aren't sitting on "ghost PICs".
  2. They also claimed that if we later bought a PIC Plus eligible timeshare we could just swap it out with one of the PIC Express. They likened it to a vehicle license plate. If you get another car you can just move the plate over to the new car. The same could be done with the PIC weeks.
  3. If we bought more points, I think it was 84,000, with the PIC weeks we would have 5 additional HK credits. Since those PIC Express weeks don't give us any actual points we can use to book Club Wyndham, it would seem 5 HK credits is a waste on only 84,000 points. Their claim was we could also use the HK credits on our resale 243,500 CWA points. I didn't think that was right given the changes a couple years ago where they split resale and developer accounts.
All in all, the presentation was pretty painless and low pressure. We walked out with a pile of WR points and some cash (gift card).

I think all 3 are false. You can renew in 5 years but only if you are making another purchase. I haven't heard of anyone with pic express getting it extended beyond the original specified time period without an additional purchase.

PIC is very specific that it isn't transferable.

You are correct, you can't use VIP benefits like guest certs and HK credits on reservations made with non vip eligible points.

I am also surprised they said you could bring in two with an 84 k purchase. Historically I think it has been either 48,500 or 49,500 for each of the PIC's (2 maximum). So that also may be a lie or misinformation and when they went to write up they would correct themselves.

You would have 392k VIP eligible points in terms of benefits but only 84k plus any bonus points you might get in the sale. That would get you 6 HK plus more for the bonus points if any.

Actually it was only one with the 84K. I was mixing it up with the presentation two days earlier where they were pitching us two for 108K.

It doesn't seem that it would make sense to get a bunch of HK credits to use on only 84K or even 108K. It seems to only make sense with PIC Plus.

If you bought to enroll weeks in PIC Express or PIC Plus you'd need to purchase 49k points for each of the two weeks you can have. For both Plus and Express, the points count towards VIP levels. Those weeks are worth:
Studio - 77k points
One bedroom - 105k
Two bedroom - 154k
Three or four bedroom - 254k

At the time of your Wyndham purchase the PIC Plus weeks must be deeded in your name and showing in your RCI account. DO NOT proceed with the Wyndham purchase if they aren't! Wyndham contacts RCI and has to be able to verify the weeks are showing.

As long as it's written into the sales agreement, PIC Express Weeks can be added later. However I think you might have to at least be under contract for those weeks. Maybe there's a time limit window to get the weeks added that you wouldn't be likely to meet if your weeks weren't at least already under contract?

With PIC Express the points only count towards VIP levels, you cannot deposit your weeks to use as Wyndham points. PIC Express is only for five years and would require another minimum purchase to re-enroll the weeks. If during the five years you were to buy more points from Wyndham, at that time you could cancel the enrollment for the weeks in PIC Express and be able to enroll two eligible weeks in PIC Plus.

I know for PIC Plus the weeks must be at resorts that exchange in to RCI to be eligible. I thought Marriott only did Interval International since they own it. I'm not sure if that eligibilty requirement is different for PIC Express.

For both PIC Plus and Express you'd be charged the program fee on the points your weeks are worth. For 2025 it's, $0.75 per thousand points. With PIC Plus if you deposit your weeks in RCI to get the Wyndham points to use, there's a fee of $226 per week.

PIC express is specifically for weeks that don't qualify for deposit through RCI weeks. I guess you could use it on one that does qualify for PIC plus but that would not be beneficial to the owner at all. It is every other type of vacation club/timeshare- with the exception of those owned or managed by Wyndham. DVC points, Marriott, Hyatt , other II only resorts both in weeks and points, It also takes Points based clubs that exchange through rci points- Hilton, HICV good old rci points conversion, etc. It is an extra taste of vip for 5 years. The description says it can be renewed, but everyone has said that renewal requires another purchase and not just continual ownership.
