We went to a Club Wyndham owner update the other day in PCB. I know I can't believe much of what is told but do want to verify some stuff I was told is in fact false. Since we own two 2BR Marriott weeks, they tried pushing us on PIC Express in that we could get Silver VIP status. I know this isn't a very good option and PIC Plus is better. But this is what they tried to tell us.

  1. PIC Express is good for five years, but you can renew it at the five year mark. They just want to verify that you still own the week and aren't sitting on "ghost PICs".
  2. They also claimed that if we later bought a PIC Plus eligible timeshare we could just swap it out with one of the PIC Express. They likened it to a vehicle license plate. If you get another car you can just move the plate over to the new car. The same could be done with the PIC weeks.
  3. If we bought more points, I think it was 84,000, with the PIC weeks we would have 5 additional HK credits. Since those PIC Express weeks don't give us any actual points we can use to book Club Wyndham, it would seem 5 HK credits is a waste on only 84,000 points. Their claim was we could also use the HK credits on our resale 243,500 CWA points. I didn't think that was right given the changes a couple years ago where they split resale and developer accounts.
All in all, the presentation was pretty painless and low pressure. We walked out with a pile of WR points and some cash (gift card).
