Hi!

I'm hoping for some advice regarding a timeshare account we are inheriting. The account is Founders VIP at Wyndham PCB, with 2.7 million points. It's far more than we are able to use at this point of our lives. Pathways is an option on this account. Are we able to keep a portion of the points and proceed with Pathways for the rest? Is Pathways worth it, or should we look into other avenues? If we keep the full amount of the points, is there an avenue to rent the points we don't need? Thanks for any advice you can provide!

You are lucky to have an account with Pathways contracts! They only did this for a few years, and it is really the only way that you can get money from returning or "selling/giving away" contracts. (Present owners of closing resorts who are not taking the Club Access points trade for their contract is the other...but they probably won't get much money.)

I am not sure if Pathways would transfer to a new owner. If you are a direct relative (son/daughter, brother/sister, mother/father) the VIP perks would transfer, but you need to make sure that Wyndham knows that the transfer is a Legacy transfer. If you haven't inherited yet, and especially if you are not a direct relative, you might want to get your name on the account to preserve the VIP status. And also to check the Pathways details with Wyndham. You would call the Wyndham line for "Certified Exit" for your Pathways and Legacy (transfer) process.

You can keep some points and use Pathways on the contract that has it. If it is one big contract, I don't know...

Thank you for this info. The original owner is a great uncle, and he added us to the contracts several years ago. In doing so, I'm hoping we would maintain the VIP status and Pathways option. It is one large contract (2.6 million) and one small one. We're just starting to navigate this process. Since we are listed on the contracts, are we essentially obligated just as any other owner to pay the maintenance fees until we are able to proceed with Pathways or sell the points if the account owner is unable to do so? He is currently in a memory care facility, so he's obviously no longer able to use them or make decisions regarding them.
