Parterre Level?

When orderring tickets for a show.....levels are Orchestra, Parterre, Grand Tier, and something for a higher level. It shows Orch, Parterr, and the front of GT all the same price bracket. What does Parterre mean? Is it 1st balcony? A section on same level as but behind orchestra? No direct number for the venue.
 
I think it's behind the orchestra, same level....but that's just based on the actual meaning of the french word parterre.
