We are going to Destinations @ North Beach #8724 [RCI] Sept 24th,2010. Has anyone stayed there? There does not seem to be a tug review so...

What can we expect? What do you recommend ie food places, things to do in the area?
Thanks Rick

Hi Rick
I see no one has answered yet, we were in the area in 2006 at Park Rapids and there is LOTS to do! Lots of Paul Bunyan, headwaters park, local theatre, little shops to enjoy, lake activities

We stayed here in July of 09 and had a wonderful time (although the onsite restaurant burnt down the week before we arrived). If you like to fish this is a great place but not for much else. The lake is only a hundred feet or so from the back door of the condos. The resort was just taken over by new management and they were doing a really good job of getting the resort back to where it should be. They even had some new fishing boats for rent (jon boats with motors) at very reasonable rates. I don’t know what has been added or changed since 09 but I suspect the restaurant has at least been rebuilt, maybe someone else knows? Park Rapids is just a short drive and they have some really good restaurants. A trip to the headwaters of the Mississippi River is a good day trip. No AC in the units but even in July it wasn't necessary, it acutally got cold a couple of nights and we had to close the windows.
