Hi,

I had the Concierge tell me RCI is going away and Panorama is taking its place for Wyndham owners. Is this true? Is that a good thing? What do I need to know about the differences?

They also said Vacasa is like Airbnb. What does that mean? Thanks

Sounds like sales-talk to me. Wyndham owns RCI, from what I understand.

RCI is one of the components of Panorama. https://www.panoramaco.com/
As is often typical, he is trying to confuse you with gobbledy gook.

Vacasa is a management company that advertises on AirBnB (and others). The only connection to timeshares is to use them to rent (for a hefty fee).

Yeah I got the same speech earlier this week here at Ocean Ridge. I was also told that we needed to attend this update in order to get signed up for this Panorama service. I politely declined that opportunity - I'm just here for five nights and didn't want to waste a day on a presentation - but the concierge mentioned something like Panorama can be used similar to AirBnB in that you can rent houses instead of resort units. I don't know the details of Panorama, I'm a little curious but not curious enough to go to a presentation. I imagine it will probably be a disappointment like the rest of the stuff Wyndham tries to sell us on...

Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum, but I admit I've been "lurking" for a couple weeks just reading through and picking up some great tips and information. I just want to thank you all for sharing your past experiences - I have learned more about Wyndham in these last couple weeks than I have in the entire two years I've been an owner! We've made some rookie mistakes along the way (like buying more points from a presentation), but now that I kind of know what I'm doing I think Club Wyndham could be a nice thing.

Which leads me to this question: does anyone have any knowledge about Wyndham's new Panorama service? The concierge here at Ocean Ridge mentioned it at check in and said that it was similar to AirBnB in that you can rent houses instead of resort condos. All I had to do was go to a presentation to get signed up for free. I was curious, but not curious enough to go to a presentation - I'm only staying for five nights and didn't want to waste time on a presentation. Just wondering if anyone out there went to a presentation and had any takes. My first thought is - like lots of other things Wyndham does - it is all big promises and little substance.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for sharing!

I don’t think anyone understands it. That fact alone suggests to me that it is not worth understanding. If the thing itself were so valuable, they wouldn’t hide the details (such as they are) behind a hard-sell presentation.

Vacasa (another component of Panorama) can be accessed using wyndham hotel reward points. So no direct route to book house type inventory with wyndham vacation points. https://www.vacasa.com/partnerships/wyndham-rewards-vacation-rentals

Your first thought is probably the best thought. I'm sure others will share more, but, there is a web page associated with Panorama.
Interesting part is that when you click on 'contact us'. it takes you to RCI. Hmmm. You may already be signed up.

They just want to get you in so that they can sell you more points by telling you that 'you are missing out' on something. I have fallen for this, and bought more points. Now, I just take the gift and say I'm fine with what I have as a Platinum VIP. Full disclosure, I've not been invited to an update in over a year. So, I must not me missing out on anything.

Vacasa is an independent company (which bought Wyndham Vacation Rentals in 2019). They do have a partnership with Wyndham Rewards, but otherwise it's separate from either of the Wyndham companies (T+L or Wyndham Hotels and Resorts) and it's not part of Panorama. Panorama does have a segment called Love Home Swap, which sounds similar (but I otherwise know nothing about it).
