Haven't seen any posts about this recently but my dad is getting too old to travel(94 years old) and is looking to get rid of his every third year ownership at Coral Sands on HHI. Does anyone know if they have a deedback program or know of a good phone number and email to use to contact them(as they have changed their name 3 or 4 times since he bought it)?

843-842-3490 or 866-610-4124 are the phone numbers listed on their BBB page. try starting there and see how it goes

I’m also checking to see if there is a deedback program because my husband passed 2 months ago and we are not going to be using our timeshare at Island Links. It is also managed by Palmera on HHI.

I was afraid that this was going to be the case with Palmera. I contacted them and they stated bluntly that they have no program to deedback or give back their timeshares. The only way out is to find someone to buy it for a dollar or something and then pay them the transfer fee of $1500 plus the paperwork costs. It looks look I might just have them stop paying the maint fee and see what happens because it doesn't matter if their credit is damaged, just don't want a lawsuit.

Thanks for the reply. I’m also afraid that it will continue to haunt the family even after my parents have passed away.

I believe SC is an anti-deficiency state (which is very good for timeshare owners). Typically, developer can only take back the timeshare and cannot attempt to collect additional monies. So, once it was taken back in this proceeding, I'd think that's it. It is VERY important to not object--including writing reasons parents cannot pay, "explain," etc., which can be taken as objecting.
Here is a link. Note this is from 2019.

I can tell you that Coral Sands (Elite Resort group) DOES have a deed back program. The fee to enter into a mutual release of claims was a processing fee of $1500.. this can vary depending on unit type and week number. 2024 maintenance fees will need to be paid as well as late fees or assessments. ERG, the management company does take foreverrrrr to respond but they will get back to you.

it wont, unless they are already listed as owners.

Thanks for the replies. Just curious Tracyyy3 what email did you use to contact ERG or what method? When I talked to them on the phone they said they had no deed back program.
Unfortunately TUGBrian, the kids ARE already listed as owners

Thanks for the link Elaine! I have read other posts here on Tug about the anti-deficiency foreclosure but am not sure I understand it. I’ll keep doing some research
