Palace Resort "Issue"

A few months back Palace Resorts had Elite Members, who cancelled their membership (and then got a large refund from AmEx) arrested in the Cancun Airport...has anyone heard of any problem traveling in Cancun since that one incident?

I've been to 3 Palace's since that happened and I have had no trouble at all. As a matter of fact, when asked to go to the "meeting", I bring it up as a reason to not go to the update and they leave me alone rather than call the room everyday asking that I go.

I just saw my "newbie" tag - we have actually been a member for a while...just never posted. The couple in question drew attention to themselves by making a lot of noise about their issues with Palace properties and then posting about their large refund from AmEx...I suspect that Palace didn't a) like the people walking away from their contract, but b) especially going public with the refund info...but, I am also sure they didn't like the unfavorable publicity that followed the couples' public arrest in CUN...Thanks for your update

I went to Cancun and the booth at the airport tried to stop me as I walked by. I told them I didn't want to go to jail and kept walking. It was great.

I guess this is going to be the new response now when people are trying to get people to sign up for presentations.
