Resorts Owned
HGVC: Elara, Kings Land, Valdoro Mountain, the District
Is there any restriction on overlapping stays at different resorts. I know most hotel rewards programs limit points earnings on overlapping stays, but can't remember if HGVC doesn't allow this. I have some reservations at an Orlando resort coming up and might have a friend stay at another resort due to limited availability at the resort I am staying at. I don't think there is any restriction, but just want to be sure. Rooms would be booked using Open Season and I would use a Guest Cert for him.

Thx!

OS is for owners only; not for guests..
Otherwise, can use HGVC points to book multiple rooms at different locations at same time (with appropriate GCs, if you are not personally there)..
(WorldMark/Wyndham does not allow concurrent booking at same time at different locations, unless a GC is used).
TY!

*I have made bookings at different HGVC locations for same dates, when I am not sure of life/schedules/family health issues etc (for my preferred location & a plan B booking for a different location; which I cancel as soon as my plans firm up, to give other owners a chance to book their desired dates at their desired location)...
Mahalo!

I meant to write Club Points, not Open Season. My bad;)

Nope. We always have overlapping reservations at OO until we figure out our dates. I just grab whatever and then sort it out. Just had a overlapping stay in HGVC Vilamoura with a 1 bed overlapping a 2 bed

I'm referencing overlapping stays at different resorts. I've done the same resort frequently, but never different resorts. Thx.

You can. I have done that also. The system is barely smart enough to make one reservation, much less, look across reservations....:)

I can say with all certainty that Cabo Azul would not let me book 2 rooms under my own name - Yes - this is not an HGV booking. When I stay in true HGV rooms - there is no restriction with double (overlap) bookings. Last year I booked both Maui properties (MBV KBC) with an overlap of 3 days - Both under my own name. I did not stay at the MBV - I gave that room to my nephew and his family. I was there to check them in - thus using no guest certificate.

Worldmark prohibits overlapping Bookings at both separate and same Resorts. That is why it is important to have 2 names on the Account. Several years ago I was making Reservations for my Son and his Family at Daytona Beach and Orlando. Because they had young children I did not want them to have to checkout from Daytona Beach, drive to Orlando, and have to wait several hours to checkin. So I Booked an extra day at Daytona Beach. This way they could stay as late as they wanted at Daytona Beach and then drive to Orlando. Arriving after the 4pm checkin time.

Within a couple hours of making the 2 Reservations I got a Fone call from Worldmark pointing out that overlapping Bookings in the same name was prohibited. I explained the situation with the very young children and why the Bookings overlapped. The Bookings were approved.

That's pretty harsh and good to know. Even if you have two names on the account, can you ever book more than two rooms for a stay? I've had some HGVC stays where I have had 5-6 rooms at the same resort at the same time or overlapping. These are all Gold season stays. In some cases, I've even booked a Studio for 3 nights, only needing one to bridge a gap between reservations.

Impressive, my max is 3 rooms at Ocean Oak in June for our annual family trip.

I've actually got 7 reservations for an upcoming stay. One of those is a three night booking in a Studio that cost me under $35 (total) that I will likely not use. The other 6 are related to a golf trip and trade show bookings for friends and family.

At some point I may be moving out West and have thought that Worldmark might be a good addition to my HGVC deeds. My travels with WM would likely look a bit different than my HGVC usage, but that is am important consideration. Thx.

WM is excellent for national parks etc; also lower MFs for 2 BR for 1 week than HGVC for many places for peak season (say Maui) but a real pain to access HI with WM (easy to access BI with HGVC)...
Many loxns of WM are places where there is NO HGVC/MVC/HVC etc (say Estes Park next to RMNP; Yellowstone (next to NP), Moab, Oregon coast, WA state, Canmore/Banff etc, so if you are outdoorsy & love NPs, then it is hard to beat.
Wyndham is a real pain to transfer resale; highly recommend using Henri Moreau, an agent (& do NOT use tochoa on eBay; had a horrible experience with them with my WM xfr with them).
WM gives a HK credit & a GC for each 10k WM credits (= 1 week in a 2 BR unit at many loxns); more freqt, shorter stays get more expensive at WM... Also, no reservation fee event at cardboard/peasant level WM unlike HGVC)
Can likely pickup a WM membership for free or 399 xfr fee.
It complements our HGVC TS membership well although we have too many TS's & may divest our WM over time (as we have a large HGVC ownership, which we intend to keep)
Mahalo!

In Worldmark you get 1 HKT FROM 0 TO 19,999 Credits. Then an additional at 20,000 Credits, an additional at 30,000 Credits. No additional HKT for Credits in between,

For Guest Certificate it is 1 per 10,000 Credits or part thereof. So 0 to 10,000 is 1 Guest Certificate. 15,000 Credits is 2 Guest Certificates.

I've done it before at Waikoloa resorts when I didn't want to be homeless from 10am to 4pm, one day overlap.
Hmm, Might try this next fall, we are splitting our time between Bay Club and Kings Land. that would make it easier
