Does anyone have recommendations on other resorts that are of the calibre of Vidanta?
The fees charged to non members is now astronomical along with the golf fees. I'm wondering what else is out there.
I have SFX, Interval International and Dex.
Thanks in advance.

You can use DEX to get Vidanta with much lower resort fees. Was 150 now, I believe, $300.

Have you looked at Cabo Azul in San Jose del Cabo?

Yeah I would not know about that as I am a Member.

I believe there are no resort fees at Cabo Azul when you use DEX. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Dex is cheap for Vidanta but they only offer 1 bedroom I need 2!

I’ll look at Cabo Azul thank you.

Did you check the Grand Mayan? I believe there are two bedroom Grand Mayans. Unless you are only interested in the Grand Luxxe

Thanks for your reply. Yes, only GL or higher, it’s hard to go down ;)

Villa la Valencia and Vista Encantada in Cabo are luxury type resorts. Garza Blanca in Cabo and Puerto Vallarta are luxury type resorts. Any Villa la Estancia would be considered luxury. Monticristo at Sunset Beach is luxury.

Vidanta has the largest properties with Grand Luxxe, Grand Bliss and the new park resort which are all in a luxury class of its own. There isn't really a comparable, imo.

I got 2 2 bedroom Grand Luxxe suites with DEX last year at NV, and “ only” a one bedroom GL at RM for this April using DEX.

Thanks I have been looking for a 2 bed on dex without luck for next November. Maybe it’s the timing. It would be really great if I could find it!

Thanks.

If you own legacy HGVC Elite Premier or HGVC (shorter window) you may have access to Grand Mayan/Luxxe. (corrected - Not RCI)

I have never stayed at either but have stayed at Cabo Azul and Waldorf Pedregal (not a timeshare). Cabo Azul is very nice but a notch below Waldorf Astoria.

All HGVC have access to them directly using HGV points, not just through RCI. EP just has a longer booking window..1 year.

This is through HGVC:

For Legacy Elite, you have even more with the Luxury Homes and the Registry Collection

Thanks...my HGVC are Embarc so it's not exactly the same program that you have. Dex has a 1 Bed villa GL with a $300 Resort fee for only 12K points which is very nice, but the 1 bed thing is the problem.

I believe the one bedroom villa has an extra room, like a studio which could be used as a second bedroom, and a half bath (maybe only a mini kitchen?).

Anyone stayed at Diamante near Cabo? By the looks of it, it may be on a similar level to Vidanta Grand Luxxe. But it would be nice to hear someone's personal experience. Diamante is available via ThirdHome.

When I've stayed in the 2 Bed Villa it does indeed come with that extra room with a TV and a minibar. That may be feasible if it's the same with the 1 bed VIlla. I'll look into that. Thank you.

I had a 2-bedroom Villa in RM last year that had the extra area with a small balcony, with a sofa the housekeeper made up for sleeping on the side without a kitchen.. (Master Room) It did not have a 1/2 bath but we shared the large bathroom with the other bedroom.. There was a cabinet with a small refrigerator and coffeemaker with a large TV above them, plus a closet with shelves and hangers for clothing. My friend & I shared the bathroom.

The half bath is in the 1-bedroom side on the opposite side of the kitchen behind the nice slate tile wall.
