OLCC is a huge resort, with several sections. Anyone staying at the resort has access to all other sections and amenities.
Some exchangers have ended up in units they didn't like - what they might call the wrst units, but given the size of that size, and the number of people exchanging in, it's not surprising to find some who were unhappy. As the above poster stated, it may or may not be the right resort for all. At least now, with 4 resort codes, people will have a better sense of where they will be staying within the resort.
West Village is the oldest part of the resort, but the units are regularly updated. Even so, there are some architactural details that cannot be changed - these units will never have the large jacuzzi tubs, for instance, becaus the bathrooms don't have room for them. But most of these units are single story golf villas, where you won't hear your neighbors.
River Island is the other extreme - these are the newest units. They are in high-rise buldings I think 8 or 10 stories, with internal hallways, and elevators. Not quite like a hotel, since your unit is larger and more comfortable, but not much unlike an apartment complex, as you're sharing your hallway with several other families (and their loud kids). You will most likely have another family living above you, and you will probably hear them moving around in their unit, as well as the folks next door, unless they've installed really good soundproofing. I would expect it to be a very differnt experience from West Village.
It is a huge resort, but each village does have a different character. What do you mean about your daughter being particular? What would be her expectations? If she wants to be in the middle of everything, River Island is fine. If she wants to be able to get away from the crowds, West Village would probably be better.
