We are getting excited about our upcoming trip to Indio next week. Does anyone know if there is free wifi or at least computers in the lobby? I'm wondering if it is worth it to take my laptop.

Any suggestions re. things to do? We are hoping to do the tram excursion, and of course Palm Springs. I understand there are some street fairs/flea markets that we could go to. and of course, we will check out the casinos.

We are flying into Ontario, and I am guessing it will take about an hour and a half to drive there.. Does that sound about right?

Any tips or advice would be most appreciated.

Thanks. Dori

Hi :) Your guess on driving time from Ontario is pretty good. We love the Palm Springs Follies and have seen it over six times. It has the quality of a Las Vegas show with beautiful costumes, etc. and the cast are 50-90 year old ex-showgirls and men. You can google for more info.

There is one night a month in Palm Desert where the art galleries are open evenings and serve wine and cheese. The concierges can help you on that.

The tram is an xlnt suggestion as it will be quite warm while you are there and it is much cooler in the mountain.

Dori, I agree with Cathy that you should plan to see the Follies in Palm Springs. They are almost closed for the season but you can probably still get tickets while you are here. Here is their website: http://www.psfollies.com/ticket_info.php

If you are golfers, there are over a hundred in the area, including the 36-hole course, Tera Lago, right where you will be staying.

Another neat attraction to visit is The Living Desert in south Palm Desert. It's a combination zoo and botanical garden. You might also be interested in touring the Palm Springs Air Museum at the Palm Springs airport. Here's their website: http://www.air-museum.org/

It will be HOT while you are here so be sure to bring along sun screen and a hat to wear. Enjoy your stay.

Dori,

I am pretty sure there is a computer room. There is Wifi around the pool but it is not free. Here is the cost:

Access for shorter stays may be purchased in increments of one day for $4.95 or 10 days for $15.95. You sign up online and can log in and out. I kept my access code as I never used up my time and I should be able to log back in on my next stay if I desire.

I was in a building very near the pool and could get the wifi from my balcony but it was spotty inside the room. They do offer a cable for inside.

Hope this helps and enjoy your stay!

Thanks for your replies. Although my heart is broken (sob) about the lazy river being closed, as long as there is a nice pool, we'll enjoy it.

Does anyone have a favourite casino in the area?

Dori
