Off to New Orleans

Heading out from Fairfax County (VA) later this AM. Will stop at Wyndham Smoky Mountains for the night, go the rest of the way Saturday, then do the same thing coming back next weekend.

We have a fixed week (Week 47) 2BR, 2BA unit at Quarter House, Unit 427, where we haven't stayed since 2012.

Only two things on the schedule -- Thanksgiving Jazz Brunch at The Court of Two Sisters and lunch Friday at the New Orleans School of Cooking. They make shrimp and artichoke soup on Fridays, definitely one of the best things I've ever tasted. Plus shrimp or crawfish etoufee, pralines, and bread pudding.

We'll do some of the things we always do -- French Market, Café du Monde, performers at Jackson Square, Preservation Hall, Casamento's for oysters, Daisy Duke's for whatever -- and no doubt some new things.

Wonderful resort in a wonderful city, can't wait to get there.

The huge Brunswig pyramid crypt, the famous blue weeping angel in the Hyam crypt, the Clapp crypt, the Bruning crypt, the Beck Memorial, the “Broken Cathedral" Egan Tomb, etc.
