Just retraded a Canyon Villas April week for Oceanwatch, May 15th check in. I wasn’t thrilled to get a garden view. Would it be worth it to purchase E-plus to try for a better view? Garden view may be okay if it’s in a quiet area (we are both 80+). Any advice on what we should try for? Thanks for any advice!

If it's enrolled and an MVC deposit, you wouldn't need to purchase e-plus to trade again. Otherwise it might be worth it or you could just keep looking and pay full price for a retrade later if desired.

Thanks, Dean. It’s not enrolled. Isthere a way to learn what view the unit has before making the retrade?

Not that I am aware of. But you can cancel within 24 hrs and start over again without penalty.

Thanks, Dean. I forgot about the 24 hour cancellation rule.

Here is the OceanWatch view map I created. Garden view units are the lower floors of the back buildings. They are definitely quieter than the front 3 buildings in my mind. If you don’t mind the walk up to the beach then the back buildings are nice.

I have stayed in a garden view before and had a perfectly lovely stay- though I prefer conch or scallop with the oceanfront or Oceanside when I can get them.

Thank you so much for creating this map. It’s so helpful to have a visual! Glad to know you had a good stay in a garden view unit and I think it will work out fine for us too since a quiet area is important.

One thing about this resort to note. It isn't a big footprint in terms of beach frontage. It gets very crowded on the beach especially with the Marriott hotel on the right side. It also seems to flow from back to front in terms of foot traffic. Staying in the GV buildings is very quiet and the pool is good. Not my favorite resort because of the footprint and high rise buildings, but it's very nice and the units are good. It is also notorious for pool chair hogging.

We have stayed all over the resort and walk away happy every time we go to OceanWatch. We own Ocean Side units and I like the assurance that we will always be near the beach. Ocean Front is great but better in the end units right above the beach which cannot be assured. Some of our best stays for the kids have been in the Ocean View and Garden View units - they like the nearby attractions.

Many of us are just grateful to be able to go to OceanWatch, it's really nice.

We also liked the Garden View units they are near all the onsite amenities plus the serenity pools for relaxation.
