Hey all,
We were at a volleyball tournament a few weekends ago in Myrtle Beach, and our team had to stay at the Sheraton Convention Center. While there, they pulled the "here's a gift, go see the concierge" tactic. At one point during our stay, we were bored, so we went on over to see what they said. They offered us a $99 3-night/4-day stay within a year at 1 of 6 Myrtle Beach locations, including OceanWatch and Broadway Plantation. Of course it required a sales presentation. Since we rented out our summer OceanWatch for this year, my wife thought it was a good idea, so we fell for it. The $99 was sort of the initial fee, as the only place that didn't require additional payment was a Courtyard. OceanWatch required $600 extra and Broadway Plantation required $300 extra for a 2BR. OceanWatch didn't have any dates available that would work for us until October, which we didn't want. So, we decided to book at Broadway Plantation over a holiday weekend.

Long story short, we are very use to OceanWatch. We know Broadway Plantation is not on the beach. But, can anyone that has been to both provide a comparison of the 2 resorts, so we know what we are getting into? The pics look nice, but that is marketing. I've read a few threads that suggest people are not so happy with Broadway Plantation. Thanks for you time.

We own at both Oceanwatch and SBP. It’s been many years since we actually stayed at SBP but at that time we enjoyed our stay but it didn’t come close to Oceanwatch as far as facilities were concerned. They had an indoor/outdoor pool with a lazy river that was nice but nothing really special. Same with the rooms. While they were nice, they were not the same quality as a Marriott. We bought our resale small 1br over 15 yrs ago to use as a trader which it has always been great as for an annual MF of only $400 now! We managed to travel anywhere we wanted using that week. We used it to trade back into an SBP 2br and many times to Oceanwatch, Hawaii, Aruba, etc, etc. the location is great since it’s right across the street from Broadway at the Beach. As long as you are not locked into an Oceanwatch type of expectation I believe you will enjoy it. There are always people that are going to complain about something so I usually just disregard an occasional complaint.

We also own at both, multiple weeks at both, and I agree that Sheraton Broadway Plantation is a tier below the Marriott resorts.
I bought SBP for specific reasons, and have never stayed there except once for a long weekend.
Not at all to say that SBP isn't a nice resort....it is! and very nice!......but it's not a Marriott,
and certainly doesn't have the quality or the beauty of Oceanwatch. Not even close.
That said, SBP is still one of the best "other" resorts at Myrtle Beach.
I give one week to an employee each year, and have for many years, and they adore it.
In fact she would kill me if her family couldn't go. She is raising a granddaughter, and it's a special time.

We were at both in May 2021. We stayed a week at Ocean Watch and only a day at Sheraton Broadway Plantation. Look, there is really no comparison. Ocean Watch is far superior. Not only on the beach but far better pools and activities. Full service marketplace, two bars and food options. SPB does have a bar/food at the pool and has a lazy river. By lazy river, don't be thinking Aruba Surf Club. The lazy river is kind of small and hokey. There is also a large splash park and waterslide at SBP. That said, there is nothing inherently wrong with SBP and if you had never been to Ocean Watch, you would think SBP is fantastic. It is close to Broadway at the Beach with plenty of shopping and restaurants.

Do a search on YouTube for Sheraton Broadway Plantation, there are plenty of videos out there of the rooms and resort. $399 is a pretty good deal.

Ocean Watch would be my preference for a stay over SBP. It's a beautiful place and it is a step above SBP. I say this but own many weeks at SBP and have stayed there, but when I could get an exchange into Ocean Watch for our son and his family for the summer of 2020, I took it.

There is no comparison between the two resorts.
The Marriott's OceanWatch is the #1 rated timeshare in Myrtle Beach.
That sure be enough. The above four post's were correct in their assessment of OW.

If you go into it with all of the above in mind $399 with a presentation still isn't a bad deal for 3 summer nights in a 2 BR at SBP.

$399 for 3 summer nights in a 2 BR villa at SBP maybe an excellent deal. You need to check the costs for 3 summers at SBP?

We were told during an Ocean Watch presentation in December that major work is about to take place at the Sheraton property to bring it more into line with Ocean Watch.
