Oceana Palms first week in January

Really, the only ones that are walkable are those in Ocean Walk as well as a few others that are located in the vicinity of Ocean Walk. Ocean Walk is the plaza/shopping area located at Riviera Beach park. Johnny Longboats, Two Drunken Goats, Mulligans. Here is their website with a full list; https://www.oceanwalkfl.com/

There is also a restaurant at the Marriott hotel near by, but we have never dined there.

We own at Ocean Pointe and traditionally, on our first night , we walk to Johnny Longboats. It's not fine dining but the place has a lively and fun atmosphere.

But is the food good or just average ?

Any suggestions of restaurants we can walk to? We'll have a car but for the first night I would prefer to stay close to then TS.

Thanks.
We stay on Singer Island for 3-4 weeks every Jan/Feb. at Ocean Pointe. When we stayed at Oceana Palms, we walked over to the Marriott Resort & Spa nearby. They have a Happy Hour menu from 5-7 Mon -Fri., in addition to their lunch/dinner menu. The places mentioned above are also fun places.

The last time we were at OP was 3 or 4 years ago and we went there twice but several other from our group went at times as well. I'd say it was very good each time.

There was a murder at the Hilton Singer Island (hotel) a couple months ago while we were staying at Oceana Palms. Apparel one of the co-founders of Salt Life was involved and admitted to killing his teenage (18) girlfriend.

Wow...do most consider Singer Island a safe area or no?

Most would consider Singer Island to be safe, though perhaps that is changing. Though it is located near Riviera Beach proper which has one of the highest crime rates in Florida.

I'll continue to go to Oceana Palms (deeded owner), but will spend less time on that part of the island, and certainly won't go that direction on foot.

We'll continue to visit both Ocean Pointe and Oceana Palms without reservation, and we'll have no issue walking around the island, whether it be up towards the park or around the neighborhoods / strip mall. Then again we aren't out late, when most bad stuff happens

Once you get over the bridge, though...

ETA: just read the first article. OMG how horrible. :(

We’ve been here all week (Ocean Pointe) and drove through the area of the shooting just before it happened.
Having watched and listened to several people with first hand accounts, it appears to me the shooter was targeting one business but wasn’t a very good shot, with or stray bullet striking the victim in the head while she watched he fiancé play frisbee football.
Judging from the heavy police presence around the mall, our thought was they felt he’d be back.
Perhaps he was targeting a business or perhaps he was targeting one person. In 19 years of traveling to Ocean Point this is only the second shooting I’m aware of, but for a small island, that’s enough.
