Hi All,

Considering Ocean Watch MOW gold week. How easy is it to get Week 33 or 34. Any difference with OF/OS/OV/GV.

I can do 13 month out if it helps.

Also how easy to get platinum week reservation if I get a plat week.

Appreciate any feedback.

I own Platinum. The only weeks I've tried to reserve have been in June and I have always been confirmed. I have heard the weeks you're looking for in the Gold season are prime weeks. Hopefully someone that owns Gold will have an answer for you about those weeks.

MOW Platinum weeks are great traders. We've always gotten our trades confirmed within 1 to 8 weeks. We've actually never stayed at MOW we've traded since purchasing 7 years ago.

We just purchase MOW gold week in late spring so our first booking experience was for the weeks you are looking at....The August Gold weeks. We were unsuccessful with week 33 at the 12 month mark. I was on online, my wife was on the phone, both a 900am EST. No luck for either of us. We were however successful with week 34 the following week. With this said, there was a "glitch" in the Marriott booking system the morning that week 33 opened up so others reported the same problems here in TUG. We hope for better luck when booking next year.

Like Former Cruiser pointed out, those Aug weeks we are both looking for are definitely the prime gold weeks.

We have had no problems with those two weeks for several years now. But, we are on the horn at 9am exactly 13 months out every year to assure it.

I would imagine it would be harder for OF just because there are less available than any other designation.

If you only own one Marriott week, I believe you will have difficulty in getting one of those much sought after weeks. Individuals that own multiple weeks are able to book at the 13 month mark which decreases some availability.
Although they are gold weeks those of us from the north still consider the last two weeks in August in SC to be summer and thus very desirable.

Week 34 is usually the week that NC schools start back. Thus making week 33 a very popular item. According to OceanWatch employees it is the busiest week of the year!

Based on that info, I may end up going with a plat rather then a gold just to have more flexibility.

For plat owners, how easy it is to get weeks 9 month out when school is off June 20 - Sep 1. Does it get full pretty quickly as with other resorts.

Ocean Watch has a very high owner occupancy rate. In order to get summer weeks you will need to make reservations at the 12 month mark in order to the desired prime weeks.

We own a platinum week at MOW and always book 12 months out whenever we plan on going there. We have never had a problem getting the week (or check in day) we want, however, booking nine months out may pose a problem. All summer SC week sap seem to fill quickly and MOW has a very high owner occ rate.

I understand. I would say that timeframe would work for some properties, but probably not at MOW (or some of the HHI properties). Sorry!
