First visit to Ocean Pointe. Burning through some expiring points so it’ll be a nice quick getaway before Winter. We got Oceanside. Can someone explain the view? I’m assuming one the side of the buildings but wasn’t sure if the view is guaranteed. Also.. any buildings recently refurbished? I’m going with my 23 year old daughter. I got my welcome email and surprised to see they ask for your two building preferences. Thanks!

Oceanside will be the units on the side of the buildings. Usually facing the parking lot and the building across the parking lot if applicable. Kingfish building is mostly Oceanfront with some Oceanside that face north. All of the other buildings have north and south facing Oceanside units. We have stayed in both the main section (Sailfish, Dolphin, Cobia and Pompano) and Kingfish which is separated from the rest of the resort. Kingfish is quieter with its own pool, fitness center and bar area. The main section of the resort is where you will find the three larger pools, main restaurant and Marketplace. Just about any unit above the 4th floor will have decent ocean views to the side. I beleive they did do some tree trimming a few years ago to make for some better views, but generally the higher the oceanside unit you get, the better.

I have made quite a few videos of Ocean Pointe during our recent stays and they may give you an idea of what to expect. We will be back again in a few weeks as we scored a studio on an AC. I filled out our preference request form asking for Cobia or Dolphin. We aren't the biggest fans of Kingfish, but some people prefer it. In any situation, you will have a great stay.

We had an oceanside view the one and only time we stayed at Ocean Pointe. We had a great dumpster view.

Where were the dumpsters? THey must have been for construction going on in another building? The regular trash dumpsters for Ocean Pointe can't be seen from any of the villas. They are under the buildings.

There are only 2 views at Ocean Pointe. Oceanside & Oceanfront. The Oceanfront views are then ends of the main buildings (and on the one side of Kingfish as well I believe.) Oceanside are all of the other rooms. I really don't understand how you could get a dumpster view when all of the dumpsters I have seen there are in the underground parking areas?

@BocaBoy gripe with Ocean Pointe dates back to 2012. I beleive they were doing renovations at Ocean Pointe at the time, thus dumpsters in the parking lot for construction debris.

We were there in March - here is our post from the view from the balcony - 1st picture is from the balcony - second picture is from the living room. We got lucky with the 7th floor. You will definitely enjoy!
Ocean Pointe - Oceanside 1 Bedroom - Pompano Building 7th floor - close enough to oceanfront for us. No complaints....will take this view any day of the week!

I would definitely take that! I’ll request a high floor.. you never know! Where the villas updated in the past couple years?

With five buildings, Ocean Pointe does renovations to one of the buildings every year. Five years of a soft goods refurbishment with one building every year then followed by a 10 year case goods full refurbishment. One building every year for five years. So the villas are always in pretty good condition. The Dolphin building was scheduled to undergo its refurbishment in October of this year, but due to current situation of material shortages, delays and labor, that has been postponed. So Dolphin will be the oldest renovated building of the five. The most recent would be Sailfish, Kingfish, Pompano and Cobia in that order as newest refurb to oldest.

I'm looking at the satellite photo from Google Maps.
How does the view from Kingfish compare with the other buildings, since there is water on two sides of Kingfish?

FWIW: According to Google Maps, looks like the corner by Kingfish is the easternmost point in the State of Florida

Second question. We will be there the first week of December. What is the likelihood the water will be warm enough to swim in if you are not Canadian

Many people like Kingfish because they can also watch the boat traffic in and out of the port. From small boats to huge yachts. The views to the south will look across the inlet to West Palm Beach.

As for water temperatures, they should still be in the 70s in December;

If you need pool towels after hours go to Kingfish laundry for fresh ones.
We plan to go out early tomorrow, and realized too late that we had not yet exchanged our towels for fresh ones.
