We are going to Ocean Point next week. Has anyone tried any new restaurants (or old favorites) that they enjoyed in the area ?

We discovered L'Opera when we took the water taxi to Clematis on Thursday night. It was wonderful....seafood, lamb, steak...all excellent.
We always walk over to Sailfish Marina for dinner( last time...New Years visit.... we went twice). Grouper is wonderful. And, of course, Max & Eddies...we walk over there & we also order take out(they deliver to OP). In the past we have enjoyed Carmine's La Trattoria but this past visit it was a real disappointment. We are wondering if it is under new management or going out of biz or what's happening. Service was awful, food was terrible. Too bad b/c the time b/f it was great.
Do you have some favorites that you cld share? We are going back mid-March for a week & wld like to try some new places.

Ocean Pointe restaurants

We just got back from Ocean Pointe and enjoyed some great dinners at the new Downtown at the Gardens. We ate at the Yard House and the Cheesecake Factory. It is a nice area which just opened in Nov. and is no where near completed. It has a few restaurants opened and a movie theater, but will have several more opening in the near future along with a lot of shoppping.
We also had a good meal at Carmine's and our sales rep. sent us to San Gennaro's which was excellent. The Jetty is Jupiter is also good. However, dinner at Sailfish Marina was a disappointment.
Have a great time.

We just returned from Ocean Pointe and must second the meal recommendations for Sailfish Marina and Max & Eddies - both were great.

For something different when you go get groceries

There is a new Whole Foods in the Downtown that was mentioned in another post. We always plan one of our meals when we're heading there for groceries. They have a great salad/hot bar. Lots of variety.

Beautiful grocery store. Great meat, fish and cheese counters.

To 714: Interesterd in what happened @ Sailfish Marina...service? food? You said it was a disappointment. We have been there many times & most times it is great although once in a while they do mess up. Guess you happened upon one of those "once-in-a-whiles". Were you there recently?

To smoothair.
We were at Sailfish the beginning of Feb. Yes, we have eaten there several times during other trips to Ocean Pointe and had good meals and service. However, this time the service was bad: he forgot to bring our drinks, actually brought out the bread as the busboy was clearing our meals away and I ordered sea bass, which is usually a thicker fish and this was very, very thin and dry. My husband's meal was ok. It was a disappointment, since we were expecting a good seafood dinner.

To 714: That's too bad. Did you mention this to the Concierge @ OP? They have an interest in these things b/c they refer many guests to Sailfish Marina Restaurant among other places. If you mention it to OP Concierge, she will call over to Sailfish Marina & find out what's going on. Sailfish Marina Restaurant shd have comped your meal.

We just returned from Ocean Pointe and had lovely meals at Kee Grill in Juno as well as Carmines, San Gennaro's ,Legal Sea Foods at City Place and P.F. Chang's at the Gardens Mall. We also tried Panama Hattie's for the first time. It wasn't a great meal but a waterfront table, live music and free water taxi ride make the food bearable.
