I'm trying to decide to if I should book before we go to NYC or take a gamble and wait till we get to New York. We have one show booked ahead of time ("The Producers") on a deal from Playbill for $60.00 for orchestra seats. What has anyone been able to snag in the past few months at the same day half price ticket booth? Has anyone been able to get Wicked, Spamalot or Jersey Boys?

TIA
Gayle

Jersey Boys is out.
Wicked and Spamalot highly unlikely, any seats that may appear will likely be bad.
If you happen to get in during a big storm, you might get lucky.

The half price tickets are not for sold-out shows, they are to fill unsold seats.

The way to do the TKTS line is to go with an open mind and be flexible; if you're set on a particular show, particularly a musical, you may be disappointed. I usually pick a couple that are on the board, and take the one with the best seat(s). Plays are often a better bet, seatwise, than musicals; the theatres are generally smaller. Also, weekdays are better than weekends.

Gayle, check out www.broadwaybox.com for a comprehensive list of available discounts. If they aren't up for your dates yet, check back. The best deals (and best selection at TKTS) are in usually in the winter.
