I was just trying to book an Abound points stay online for my son and his family, within my 60-days prior-to-check-in discount period, and I kept getting messages that I didn't have enough points, when I know that I did. So, after digging a little further, I discovered that the cracker jack MVC IT system does not include the discount in the "needed" vs "available" points comparison. So, in my case, I did not have enough points for the pre-discounted points need, but I did have enough when the discount was applied....but the system kept telling me I did not have enough points. I ended up calling to have them book it, but just tossing this out there, as I don't recall seeing any posts about this particular IT shortfall.

I've run into this exact situation a couple of times and have had to either call or use the chat function. They need to re-code the website logic to measure account balances against discounted stay amounts.

Had it happen as well.... it's been like that for years even though I raised it with a rep too.

Yes, same here.

I think it's fairly likely AI could do at least as good a job as MVC IT.
Oh please no! The issue with AI is the ability to as bad as MVC IT, but at the speed of light, it will just be a lot faster at being wrong

Right. I completely agree.

By "just as good as MVC IT" I meant it would do a terrible job.

It seems like it would be hard to be worse, although I suppose those are famous last words. I actually wonder if programmers get more productive (and thus the big names need less) if talent might filter down to places like MVC.
