Hi,

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but thought I'd ask anyway. For years, I was able to reserve my MP timeshare online via (I think) awayigo.com, or something like that. I can't seem to find any place/site in which to make online reservations.

Is Mayan Palace/Vidanta strictly taking reservations by phone now?

Thanks,

Tom

Short answer - call them to book a week .

The complex variations of their contracts ; including variations in MF depending on year purchased and different ARP dates for registered weeks vs Vacation Fare weeks or similar suggests that speaking to a person who is able to see your contract prevents errors .It also allows Vidanta to better monitor and control weeks used and booking levels .

When you do book by phone the person you talk to immediately sends you a email confirmation .

There is a link in the confirmation that allows you to book the free inbound transportation
( for NV or PV ) on line . An email then confirms the details .

This week I just did the transportation booking on line .

T-Dot explained it perfectly. I also used to use the online system and loved it. In 2016, we went to a get-together with Grand Luxxe owners and a guy from Customer Relations answered questions. One was about the online reservation system not working and he explained that there were so many variations of contracts now that it was difficult to do online and they wanted owners to call in so they could be assisted on a one by one basis.

That said, I am still a little skeptical - because when we had multiple contracts (both MO & GM) with multiple annual MF costs, I could see the cost of each and choose the one I wanted to pay and book. When I chose GM, it showed that I could book 12 months out. The MP weeks still had 6 months out. But, most GL contracts do have different reservation times, specific amendments in them for location, type of unit, using more smaller units for the cost of MF, etc. I guess it is too confusing now to let people do it themselves.

The phone number for most levels is 1-800-AWAYIGO. There is another number for the Grand Luxxe Gold & Platinum levels.

Thanks for the info! It does seem fishy, as it's not too terribly difficult to program a website to take all these factors into account. Guess I'll be picking up the phone to make my reservations (feels so 1980's!).

If you read the TUG Wyndham Forum : go see what a mess the rollout of a new website can turn into
and how it can make owners unhappy .

IMO - I think Vidanta is using good judgement in being careful .
