Hello,

Going to 2 nights and staying at the Marriott on the Falls. Looking at ideas of what to do with a 11 year old boy and my 90 year old father on this trip and of course my husband. Maid of the Mist? Dad has a bad leg so we use a wheelchair. Any ideas to make if fun for all? Thank you.

Oh there is so much to do and see on the Canadian side compared to the US side! The lobby of your hotel should have a brochure rack loaded with books and pamphlets (& coupons) for area attractions. Clifton Hill is the busy 'main drag' with a bunch of attractions but pushing a wheelchair up the hill might be a challenge. Depending on which Marriott you are staying at it might be bit of a trek just to get over there. There is a Ripley's Believe it or Not, a go cart track, Ferris wheel and and numerous other attractions on or very near Clifton Hill. You can buy a day pass for the people mover (shuttle bus), if it has resumed post-Covid, to get around but I'm not sure it can hold a wheelchair. There is no parking for personal vehicles in the immediate falls area so you need to use the shuttle or walk. A new attraction of behind the falls at the power plant (sorry cant remember it's exact name) just opened this spring. There are some beautiful parks and gardens in the area as well as a butterfly house, but I'm not sure an 11 yr old boy would be thrilled at visiting them.
Here are a couple of websites for more ideas. Attractions & Rides | Niagara Falls Canada (niagarafallstourism.com) and Niagara Falls Attractions | Clifton Hill Niagara Falls, Canada

PS; Make sure you fill out the Arrive Can app before arriving at the border. One person can list all the travelling companions & their info on theirs.

We were on the Canada side of Niagara Falls this spring for a couple of days. There are plenty of things to do but with a 90 yr old in a wheelchair your activities might be limited.
You should be able to get down to the falls and eat lunch at the Table Rock Restaturant which overlooks the falls.

Maid of the Mist only operates on the NY side of the falls.
Here is the link to the operator on the Canadian side:
Niagara Falls Tours & Boat Rides | City Cruises (cityexperiences.com)
There is one of those "ask me a question" popups which should provide answers re: wheelchair accessibility.
This experience is amazing and hopefully your dad can enjoy it, but if not, perhaps he would be ok with waiting while the 3 of you go.

You might consider having the four of you do the Maid of the Mist-like Tour on one day. Then on the second day you and your Dad go to Niagara on the Lake and your husband and son go on a jet boat. That way the whole family will be together on one day, and on the other day you'll be doing separate trips that appeal to different generations.

You may wish to go to Niagara on the Lake which is less than a half hour drive up the Niagara Parkway.
The parkway parallels the Niagara River Gorge and is very scenic.

Old Town Niagara on the Lake is historic & has lots of restaurants and shops
There is also Fort George- The Butterfly Conservatory & The Shaw Theatre Festival in Niagara on the Lake
There are also a number of wineries that have tours and onsite restaurants .

FYI - In the War of 1812 - this area was the "front lines" . The British/ Canadians Forces crossed the river and burnt Buffalo and the American Forces
burnt down Niagara on the Lake.

Also for history of the War of 1812 in Niagara area is this :
