Is it possible to trade into Newport Rhode Island in the summer time? I was wondering how feasible it is to reserve a two bedroom at ten months out. Thankyou, Sue

June is a few days out yet for the 10 months availability. The following is available for late May.

My guess if you are quick, there will be some available in the near future for 10 months out for early June. If late May works for you, I would take it now.
 
I'm actually not looking for next year. I love Newport and now that I have Wyndham points I was just curious if it is a possible trade in the summer 10 months out. I know those that own in Newport can reserve 10-13 months in advance, so just wondering if any summer weeks are ever left over for those of us who don't own there. Sue

I have not actually looked at this myself, but my understanding is that it is a pretty tough booking. I believe most of these were originally sold as fixed weeks. Most summer weeks probably did not choose to convert.
 
We were able to nab 4 days in Newport in July on the first day of the ten month period. The availability quickly evaporated. You have to be quick.
 
As everyone has said, you will find limited availability in summer for the Newport resorts as very few summer float or fixed summer week owners converted. That's why I purchased there when I found a good resale deal.

The person I purchased from did convert (2 bed summer float at Long Wharf resort) but you will never see my unit for an exchange. When I don't use the unit I can rent it for significantly more than my maintenance fees.

I also love the "summer float" ownership at Long Wharf as I have been able to reserve any summer week I want (including July 4th week) 12 -13 month out.

If you really have a desire to go to Newport in the summer often you need to purchase there.
