Hi, we are going to Newport next weekend for our anniversary. First time away from the kids for two nights. We are celebrating our 25th year married. We are staying at the Hyatt Goat Island. Any suggestions for Sat. night dinner? Seeing that it is mothers day weekend, should we make a reservation? Any fun ideas? Thanks, Sue

Don't know that I can be of much help, but at least I'm bumping your post back up to the top, and maybe someone else will chime in. We stayed at that hotel a few years ago. If memory serves, if you go back across the bridge to Newport, and turn right, there were lots of charming little seafood restaurants along that block. Don't know if the weather will cooperate, of if it's still too early in the year, but I would bet there are dinner cruises on Narragansett Bay you could take . . .
 
Check out "Asterisk". It is a seafood place on Thames Street, a few blocks from the Hyatt. Recently featured on Giada DeLaurentis' Weekend Getaways Program. But as another poster said, there are lots of places along there.

If you want to spend big $$, try 33 Bowen or The Black Pearl.

For a truly special memorable evening I recommend dining at the Castle Hill Inn and Resort. Its expensive but outstanding!! One of the finest dinners I have ever enjoyed. About a 25 minute scenic drive from the Hyatt. We went there last summer for a special birthday and will always remember it.
