I was looking at the 2025 Budget. A line item caught my attention because there was a 100% increase. Apparently a new source of revenue.
Parking overnight in the lot of each villa building has always been tight at Newport Coast Villas. There's a space for each villa, but not enough spaces if some guests require two or more cars for a single villa. But there's additional parking in an underground garage and at marked curbside parking spaces on some of the internal streets.
When staying with Club/Abound Points or with one (or more) week(s), the parking rules now are:
— One "V" (Villa) parking pass for use in parking lots near the assigned villa, at no charge
— One "G" (Guest) parking pass for use in the garage or at curbs, at no charge
In the past, it was possible to request a second "G" pass. Now, a second "G" pass is $30 per night.
The good news is that owners and, for example, a second couple in the second bedroom can still get free parking for two cars. As in the past, parking for the second car will be less convenient.
The bad news is that if you have local friends or family visiting for a few hours, and you're already using the two passes, there's technically no option for parking without paying $30 per guest car, even though those guests are not staying overnight. It would be nice to be able to get something like a 4-hour daytime "G" passing pass for free (or for a nominal charge).
