Week owner.
Has anyone ever used the 'split week' option at this resort?

We have not used and haven't looked into how the split week option works. I look forward to hearing if anyone has used it and how it works.

Best regards.

Mike

My understanding is that you can take a 3 day weekend, or 4 day weekday reservation. You can book two 4 day weekday reservations, but only one 3 day weekend reservation. I’ve never done it though.

We have owned at NCV for 14 years and never split our weeks. Not even sure if you can?

I have not done so at any resort. The two 4 day weekdays is a new one on me. It's use or lose and only during season and the year of usage which makes it fairly restrictive. For resorts with lock off's, you can't lock off and use this option both.

I too own several weeks at Newport Coast and have never heard of this for this resort or any other excepting Boston Custom House. I suggest a call to Owner Services for the answer to this question.

Our ownership weeks at Custom House do have this split use feature for a 4 day and a 3 day use. I was advised this is the only Marriott timeshare with this feature. Custom House is different from other timeshares as it is a right to use (RTU) property. Owners have a long-term lease through 2057 - no ownership.

My Summit Watch has that option but I can’t see using it - I can’t imagine popular weeks being available that way.

According to this post from 8 years ago, NCV does not have the split week option.

I think most if not all of the resorts I own have the option but to be honest, I can only remember seeing 1 or 2 resorts of people doing so anywhere over the years and I seem to recall they all had issues with the second portion.

NCV does have the split-week option, if it was included in your weeks purchase agreement. It was included in ours in 2002 (I don't know if NCV stopped offering this option to later purchasers of weeks - obviously it's different for points owners). But, you can't make split-week reservations on line and have to call. We've never used the split-week option, as we always go for a week or more, but it is an option in our drop down "occupy" menu on the MVCI website. I just can't tell you how well it works, since we've never tried to use the option.

I own at Shadow Ridge, Desert Springs I and II and all of them offer a split week option. But, as @PetePullen correctly said, you need to call to reserve a split week. And yes, it appears as an option under Use My Week, but when you click on it, it tells you to call Marriott.

I wonder if ii would catch it if I tried to deposit a 3 or 4 night segment? :ROFLMAO:

My “Occupy” drop down menu offers the Split week, call Marriott option. I purchased in 2004. The people we know who have used it to go on weekdays purchased in 2000.

Custom House is different in that I think you can use the four weeknights one night at a time. Many resorts have split week usage with the 4/3 split.

For any split week bookings, I think there is a $119 fee. According to the FAQ it is $80 when you make the first booking (either the 3 or 4) and another $29 when you make the subsequent bookings. Though that may only apply to Custom House. You may have to pay it all upfront for 4/3 splits. The link I had to the Marriott Vacation Club list of resorts is now broken. I will have to see if I can find it on their website.

  • Use the split week option to use a portion of the week (e.g., Friday, Saturday & Sunday) at one time and the rest at another time - $80 (or $80 for first stay and $29 per subsequent stay for resorts that allow stays of single nights)
