Hello everyone!

My mother-in-law recently sold her Hilton Grand Vacations Club membership and bought at Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club. We were familiar with how to trade for DVC through RCI with HGVC points, but the "weeks" setup of the LHVC is new and confusing. I have several questions and it seems like this is the place that would have the answers.

1. How much trading power is required for a one-week stay at a one bedroom DVC villa? Nothing crazy like Christmas or July 4, just a typical week.

2. Can I combine the trading power of multiple deposited weeks to book a single week with greater trading power required? For example, could I deposit two weeks with 15 trading power each to book one week that required 30 trading power?

3. How does the availability of DVC weeks compare to the availability of DVC points? We're not picky about which DVC resort and realize that Old Key West and Saratoga Springs will probably be the most frequently available. Is the timeline the same, with deposits peaking at 11 months out?

4. My wife is on the deed of the LHVC membership, but the RCI membership is in my mother in-law's name. Will we need to pay the guest certificate fee to use the membership?

That's all for now. Thanks everyone!

Not much help but...

...I think the answer #4 is yes, you'll need a guest certificate. Good luck on 1-3, no experience here to answer.

Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club is in the Dominican Republic, and has a high all inclusive fee. Because of the all inclusive fee, and the location of the resorts, it also has limited appeal to exchangers.

Unfortunately, selling Hilton, and buying into this was a bad deal. We have people who come here all the time who can't even give it away. Her Hilton ownership had far more value.

DVC is a much sought after trade and requires high TPU. I'd start with at least 40 TPU, before you put in an Ongoing Search.

2. Can I combine the trading power of multiple deposited weeks to book a single week with greater trading power required? For example, could I deposit two weeks with 15 trading power each to book one week that required 30 trading power?

You can combine deposits - every time you combine the fee is $119.

3. How does the availability of DVC weeks compare to the availability of DVC points? We're not picky about which DVC resort and realize that Old Key West and Saratoga Springs will probably be the most frequently available. Is the timeline the same, with deposits peaking at 11 months out?

There is no relationship between the two at all.

Yes.
