Love, *love*, LOVE this RCC. The level of service and quality of hard and soft furnishings goes far beyond most MVCs. And the location at the corner of Market, Kearny, and Geary can't be beat...and free parking!).

We have a reservation later this year at the RCC in Vail. I’m looking forward to staying in this location as we’ve never been to Vail and I want to compare one that’s more in a resort setting.

We’d love to stay in the Aspen RCC, but there has never been availability at the time we could travel. I have never even seen shoulder or off season availability in Aspen.

I would certainly hope so, isn't that kind of the point of a Ritz-Carlton, and the reason it costs so much more to own/stay at one?

Wow thanks for sharing. I was born in the city years and years ago and I don’t care what people say about it, it’s one of the greatest cities in the world.
I can’t wait to visit the property. Usually we stay at the Westin St. Francis. My mom actually worked there for years (I think it was called Western st Francis) and was there the day that crazy lady tried to shoot President Ford !

Thanks for posting the video. We plan to visit this RCC at some point in the future. One concern I have for city locations is the noise at night. How is the noise level? Are the windows sound proof? The streets in your video don't look very busy, but I think there is a cable car line nearby so it may add to the street noise.

We are making our third summer trip to RCC in Vail the week before Labor Day and love the resort and surrounding area. There are several restaurants within walking distance, as well as bike and hiking near the resort. The service has always been outstanding and the facilities are a step above MVC.

Excellent video. My wife and I will be staying there later this year when we visit our eldest son and daughter-in-law. This will be our third time staying at the Ritz Carlton Residences and it is one of our very favorite timeshares. Highly recommended!

Street noise has never been a problem during our previous visits. The main cable car terminus is about two blocks from the RCC.

For an urban location it’s very quiet. The windows are very thick. Earthquake proof?
We stay at Elara with HGVC in Las Vegas every year and are always at least 40 stories high. The street noise in that building is far worse than the fourth floor in the RCC SF.

The trolly cars and Muni busses run right outside the front door. There is a stop directly in front of the Ritz. They were never a bother. Many of the 1 bedroom units face Kearny street, which is a side street compared to Market street, which is a main artery through town.

FABULOUS VIDEO, Doug. Thank you. It's nice to see that MVC has not "Marriottized" The Ritz-Carlton Club, San Francisco. I love that building's history, as the former San Francisco Chronicle building.

Based on another thread, I was considering canceling my stay in San Francisco. I paid close attention to this video and the city street views from the windows. I did not see tent cites, groups of homeless, or anything that would make me feel unsafe. All of our cities have taken a hit after the pandemic, and everyone’s tolerance for comfort and safety is different. I appreciate the perspectives and try to make my own decisions and seeing it for myself helps. I will continue to monitor the discussions for safety concerns. Thanks!

Don’t believe the media hype, we saw NO tent cities, although we did see the occasional homeless tent. SF, as far as a tourist is concerned, is no different than any other city.
I grew up in Kansas City, MO. While I would consider most areas safe, there are those I would never walk in, especially at night.
The media has an agenda. Stop listening to them

The homeless problem in San Francisco is a "yuck" issue; it's not a safety issue.

You won't see tent cities from the Ritz Carlton; the Ritz is at Third & Market -- downtown. However, you will find people sleeping in storefronts a block or two from there. It's much worse in some of the outlying neighborhoods.

Stayed there last year on our way to Half Moon Bay. Really loved it. We were stuck for 4 hours on i-80 over sierra due to several semi accidents so instead of arriving in the afternoon, we got there around 9 pm. A pity we couldn't enjoy it more. The front desk was the warmest and nicest people we've encountered. The immediate few blocks had no feces, homeless people, loud noise, etc. Felt very safe.

The decor of our room is really top notch. I just finished caulking some parts of my own house before the trip so had a thing about checking the caulking I see elsewhere. This property has perfect caulk lines everywhere, which is super super rare.

Interesting thing is the next day we were at the RC at HMB. It's also nice but the service is not the same as this property in the heart of SF.

We've always enjoyed walking to North Beach area for great Italian food. Is that still a good option?

We only went that direction to eat at Tony’s Napoletana Pizza, which we really enjoy. There were a lot of Italian restaurants that looked good, there just isn’t enough time to eat at all of them.

Tony's has a satellite pizza operation called Slice House, operating in several Bay Area locations. I get to my nearby location as often as I can.

He's getting ready to franchise it nationwide.

Tony knows pizza like nobody's business. His pasta's pretty good too.

Also like the Ritz stays. SF and Vail are semi-regular for us. Been to Aspen Ritz 3 or 4 times, but all between 2010 and 2020 when the economy was recovering and some availability was there, if rarely. Never in winter though.

It's similar to the Aspen Hyatt inside with dark wood and very nice furniture and appliances, but located on the outskirts of town rather than right in the middle of Aspen like the Hyatt.

No problem. The shortest walking route is up Kearny Street and then Columbus. Kearny Street is the informal boundary between the Financial District and Chinatown; it is safe but boring (Grant Avenue, a block to the west of Kearny, would be more interesting). About a 15 minute walk to North Beach.

Wow looks fabulous. Do the Ritz Carlton properties have resort fees or other taxes (besides parking) if you book with destination points?

I live in San Francisco and confirm 100% what you have said.

We have more homeless than we used to have, as does pretty much every American city. You will see an occasional tent, occasionally two or three together, though the city does their best to discourage it. You usually don't see the occupants as they are inside, mostly. There is a federal court ruling that prevents the city from removing the tents so long as they are not violating other laws. There aren't many of them downtown and in the areas you're likely to be so it probably won't be something you see much of, but in any case, it's not a safety issue.

It’s terrible place to stay, LOL, I just don’t want competition for our four stays a year. There are no additional fees and valet parking is included at the SF property.

None whatsoever. They send you a pre-arrival letter which includes a list of grocery they can buy for you and place in your room before you arrive. That's the only extra you can spend I think.

I have read that the RCC San Francisco has a local limo service. Is that available o MVC owners, or just for owners of the Residences? Would love to have details on this. Thanks for the great video!
