"In order to enter an establishment [on Oahu] — not just restaurants, bars and gyms — patrons will have to show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test that was taken within 48 hours, Mayor Blangiardi said today. The requirement will be effective Sept. 13, Blangiardi said."

Where can a person get the Hawaii vaccine passport ? I googled this and came back with nothing but articles saying it is required.

It's brand new - just announced 30 min. ago. Stand by for more details.

Alcohol also looks like service stopping at 10 pm too. If that's important to anyone.

I'm still on the fence about cancelling our October trip to Honolulu.

Dont need a passport. It sounds like a photo on your phone will suffice. IMO this is no big deal because you cannot visit HI without vax proof or neg test. Takeout still works.

I have had a picture of mine on my phone since March but I have never had to show it yet. We'll see what happens with this.

Definitely less people here than the last few weeks. Much less on Beaches in Waikiki but still people here.

Yep, the numbers are following that pattern at just below 2019 numbers.

I like it. It may make our plan to come September 30th doable since it should reduce the amount of infections.

Everything is fine here.
Thank you!
My concern is that we won't be able to dine in restaurants, see shows, etc. But we are both vaccinated.

I don't think there will be a full shutdown. Mayors vaccination pass is supposed to last 60 days from implementation. If you are vaccinated you should be ok. Hes treating luaus like restaurants. Now if any of you have health conditions maybe reconsider with hospitals filling and low on island oxygen supplies. Otherwise you should be ok.

We are coming Sept. 13 for two weeks, and I’ve made reservations at a number of restaurants. Assuming we‘ll just bring our vaccine cards (or phone-photos) along to the restaurant and otherwise it will be as usual? The one part of the order that wasn’t 100% clear to me was whether the vaccination had to be in Hawaii or not. There is reference to “Hawaii-approved.” My wife and I were both vaccinated in California and our only “proof” is the standard CDC white card listing our two shots, dates, and locations.

I think the idea is they need your business. So I don’t think this will be the same as getting off the airplane.

I believe you can use your safe travels QR code you use for your flight as proof of vaccination

That would nicely simplify things.
