I used to like restaurants.com until I realized the savings is not as much as you think... Example, you pay $5 for a $25 cert in which you must purchase at least $35 worth of food. So basically you are committed to $5 cert purchase and $10 in the difference from 25 to 35. Then they add 18% gratuity per the terms of the cert, or $6.30 if you spend exactly $35. Also notice on the certificate it says don't forget to tip you waiter!? (What the heck is the 18% gratuity charge then?) So before you even sit down you are committed to $21.30 to get $35 worth of food. It's still roughly 40% savings but the way they pitch it as getting a $25 gift cert for only $5 is BS... It also causse you to spend more at the restaurant because you think you have a cheaply purchased gift cert for $5 when really it's costing you at minimum 21.30 to use.
