How many cities exist in the US? SL and FtL could actually be in the middle of the pack. Drawing an opposite conclusion from a list is not necessarily valid. I’m looking for other cities that would have similar populations to some of these, and they are not included.

Woohoo! Las Vegas is 156th on the list. But it's considered safer than those 26 other places on this list of 182 cities? Seriously? Why not 183? And by what measure? They apparently don't consider the population base for the things they rate safety on, but wildfires and Covid-19 vaccinations are factors?

The cities of Gilbert, Chandler, and Scottsdale, Arizona, are all within the Top 20. But Phoenix, AZ is 113. Those three cities are basically suburbs of Phoenix. So how can you say one is truly any safer than the others, since they're all in the same metropolitan area, with the same intermixed drivers, and in the same climatic environment?

It always makes me chuckle to read the "news" the Daily Mail prints. :D

Daily Mail did not do the survey, Wallethub did. DM, just added graphics to the data.
Original article:

Fair enough. At least they could break down the list into metropolitan areas, or something. Columbia, MD, is a nice town, right outside of Baltimore. The list ranks Columbia safest of all, and Baltimore is 161st on the list. It all just seems a bit unbalanced.

This is super confusing - your graphic lists the "safest" cities , but we are discussing unsafe cities?

That was my first thoughts as well. I live near some of the "safest" and "least safe" on this list. The local TV news definitely reported this as safest and least safe. Based on what i have seen you could say that that the top ranked city is safer than the lowest rank city, but I don't think the lowest ranked city is the least safe city in the US.. That just an over simplification

Maybe the data should be upon all the metropolitan areas in the United States and not on a few indicators.
