Just wanted to say hi! Been reading on here since we purchase the new point system in March. Finally got the nerve to sign in and post a thread...lol

Had our first trip this May using our points. We went to Marriott BeachPlace Towers and enjoyed every moment.

At first, I was kinda scared about the timeshare thing and wanted to back off... but now we think it`s going to be worth it and force us to travel and relax.

Anyways, just wanted to say hi from New Brunswick, Canada

WOW, a real live trust only owner.

Trust only owners will be a minority for many years, but in 10-20 years use weeks only owners will be the minority talking about how things used to be...

Great attitude!

... force us to travel and relax.

You hit the nail on the head my friend.
Timesharing is an investment in your quality of life, not an investment in your pocketbook. :D

P.S. - I'll be at BeachPlace in less than 2 weeks.

Congratulations. You are among the 3% of timeshare owners that understand what the true investment is. Investment in time and the obligation to take a vacation. I have read that 97% of timeshare owners regret their purchase. I would venture to say MOST of them fell for the sales pitch that your purchase was a monetary investment.

You came in with the right idea. Thats what I did in 04 and have not regretted my purchase.

Thanks. We purchased the lowest amount of points - 2000. We are currently satisfied with that as we are still young.... and it will be paid before we turn 40 and then we'll decide if we want to purchase more points. In the meantime, we can always purchase extra points from owners so why go big!

Anyways, we have always been huge Marriott Hotel fans and been Marriott Rewards Members for a while now. We visited Marriott Grande Vista in March with our daughter and attended a sales presentation, which we had already talked about buying a timeshare thru Marriott. With the points, for us it was much better than owning a week... more flexibility!

I had no problem booking Ft. Lauderdale BeachPlace for May this year and we are booked for Aruba Surf Club in March 2012 using our bonus points for purchasing. Can't go wrong there!

PS - We are huge HOCKEY fans too! Our team's been golfing since early May
