I love love love La Belle Maison if you have a 2 Bedroom Presidential there are very few of these condos in the building. Ask for the highest floor possible. Which I believe is the 9th. No matter which floor your on that room is gorgeous. La Belle has used to have different fun things on-site during the week, don’t know since Covid. Car Lobby is nice to sit in eat popcorn and drink lemonade. Also owners lounge 2nd floor coffee open atrium area. Really so many things to see and do within walking distance I don’t know where to start. Depending on how many days your visit is for makes huge difference in what you do or what you see. Keep in mind New Orleans in the summer is pretty brutal as far as heat and humidity. Factor that in your plans for walking. The French Quarter starts less than 2 blocks away right across Canal Street. One short walk down Bourbon is enough for most folks. Decatuer and Royal streets are my favorite to stroll down. Music Music everywhere. Depending on your love of history many spots to visit. So many restaurants. I have a favorite list in my file if you PM me with your email I’ll send it to you. Must see the French Market, Stroll Riverwalk, Ride the Street Car. If you don’t have time to go to Garden District(which might be another entire trip) just take a short ride down Canal Street to the River and French Market area. Jackson Square, There is a National Park in the French Quarter small, but interesting to walk through free. Cemetery Tours, Haunted Walking Tours. Self guided murder house tours in the Quarter. Eat eat eat Muffaletta most folks go to Central Grocery for this as it is told that is where it was invented. I prefer Napoleon House Restaurant 500 Chartres(another favorite street of mine) as you can sit down in a very old building and enjoy the ambiance of the Quarter. They also serve this Spinach/Artichoke dip that is different then anywhere else. Beignets at Famous Cafe Du Monde which I prefer the one in Riverwalk Mall as you can take your puffs of goodness and eat them outside by the Mississippi River. Gumbo Shop and Acme Oyster House for seafood and Cajun food. I prefer Mr.Ed’s Oyster Bar 512 Bienville. There are many great reasonable restaurants on the uptown side of Canal with walking distance of La Belle. Mother’s, Daisy Dukes, Commerce Cafe, Ruby Slippers. We love breakfast so we always find great reasonably priced restaurants for that.
If you love food and cooking shows The New Orleans School of Cooking is a must do 524 St.Louis. More eating than cooking and wonderful entertainment and the New Orleans history tales are great. Only 90 mins and a few time slots per day. Maybe 5 courses served at your table where you eat, watch, listen.
WorldWar II Museum this is differently all day maybe 2 day to see everything.
