First off, I don't want to break any rules here, so moderator: feel free to chastise me and remove if I am doing so.
If everyone here also reads the MVC forum, then I may be wasting your time, but I thought it was useful to post over here about the announcement that MVC made, they are building a new resort in Charleston, SC. Apparently it's only 50 rooms and it sounds like it will be a MVC Pulse property. The original post is here: https://tugbbs.com/forums/threads/new-marriott-branded-charleston-resort-announced.350199/
The announcement says the property they've bought is "full entitled" – that means it's got all of its local approvals and is ready to start construction, or at least to apply for building permits, which makes me assume that it's entitled as a hotel and will be a hotel-like (i.e. Pulse) property. As people have previously suggested, this is probably the only kind of new property we're going to see in the foreseeable future. Still, it's exciting that they are developing something new. Charleston is a beautiful city and I wouldn't mind having a property I can trade into there.
Does anyone think we will ever see another Westin- or Sheraton-branded timeshare property, or one that is part of the VSN? I'm thinking not even a snowball's chance in hell, but maybe I'm wrong.
