In answer to a question he also said there could be more opportunities for new MVC locations that will be co-located with new Marriott hotel developments both Internationally (Asia-Pacific specifically) and domestically going forward.

On the Q1 Earnings call this morning John Geller announced a new 60-unit MVC location is in development that will be co-located with the JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort in Thailand. Looks like the existing JW hotel is around 70 km north of the existing MVC Phuket Beach Club.

Here is a link to the hotel page to see the location- https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/hktkl-jw-marriott-khao-lak-resort-and-spa/overview/
That could be a really useful option.
The JW at Khao Lak is a very nice resort on a good beach.
We have done split holidays between MVC PBC and the MI JW Khao Lak (about an hours drive North), but an MVC there would be most welcome.
Khao Lak is also a great base for visits to two of our favourite places in Thailand - Similan Islands and Khao Sok National Park.

Perhaps someone who has stayed at this JW can tell us more about the one and two-bedroom suites that already exist on the property. They have a picture of the one bedroom units but I couldn't see how many there were. If there were 8 then that would be the 60 units. The term "sister property" may imply separate ownership from the main hotel which would make it easier for MVC to acquire.

In the earnings call Mr. Geller stated "we recently signed an agreement to develop a new 60-unit MVC in Thailand. The resort will be co-located with an existing JW in Khai Lak".

The hotels website had the following "Located in our sister property, within the hotel grounds, our 52 two-bedroom family suites are intuitively designed to foster togetherness".

During the call he said “will include a new on-site sales gallery when it opens in a few years.“ Since it will take a few years, sounds like new development.

I would expect this must be a new development to have 60 units, as although there are 2 Bed units in the current JW I don’t believe anywhere near that many.
There is adjacent land, which assuming they own it they could build on.
We stayed in a duplex suite at the JW and the whole resort had a great feel to it which would go well with a new co-located MVC resort.
