At Grande Vista now and agent trying to get me to do a presentation. Advising presentation will give me a lot of information regarding Marriott’s new benefit to use destination points combined with Disney vacation points?? Has anyone heard of this new benefit or are they trying to get me to go to the presentation. Lately I have not been doing presentations because I have no interest in buying points and do not want to take time away from my vacation.

Following as I am going to be at Grande Vista in March.

Smoke and mirrors. Marriott has been selling the Disney think HARD! Its just that Disney is now available to trade for in Interval. Nothing more to it than that. And so far the reality really is you can trade into a Disney Saratoga Springs 1-bedroom on Fridays only, lol Nothing else has been seen in II so far.

How can I see that Disney is available in II? I went in to II and searched, probably the least likely way to find something. But as an II neophyte, I am curious how I can see Disney in II? Do I have to deposit before Disney is available?

Search for Saratoga Springs. Assuming you have enough trade power you will find multiple 1BR weeks available for June-September. No other Disney resorts have been spotted in II this far.

Well... thanks for the tip! A 1BR is interesting, but not sufficient for my needs. I'm looking to exchange an MGO platinum week. Still though, nice to see Disney is a real option.

Has anyone heard if DVC is a full time addition to II?

I wouldn't get too excited if a one bedroom doesn't work for you. They have moved to II, but 1 bedrooms is what you can expect to see.

Keep in mind that seeing what’s online is seeing everything that wasn’t matched with an request first or deposit first exchange request. Essentially your looking at the surplus or over development

There have been some posts on the II community from people who own DVC talking about the economics and saying it just doesn’t make sense for DVC owners to deposit 2BR in II.

I have seen several posets from people who exchanged into 1BR Saratoga but nothing else.

There are also been reports of people being able to request other DVC.

DVD (Disney Development) is the II member, not the DVC member. When a DVC member exchanges, or deposits, they simply do so in DVC points. These are pooled and DVD decides what resort, unit size and week to deposit. Most feel the reason it's just 1 BR mostly SSR, is simply demand and I think this is likely the case. The points structure has it set such that a 1 BR is roughly double a studio. SSR is the least in demand resort comparatively speaking and it's a large resort. OKW & AKV will be the next in line. DVD is tied to the reservation windows for the points that are in play which is why you'll see most deposits showing up at 7 months out or less. What actually gets deposited makes no difference to the DVC member who exchanged.

If this is Marriott Vacation Club's latest "deceptive sales and marketing tactic" please post the name of the Glengarry Glen Ross engaged in these tactics on this BBS, let's add them to Marriott's Wall of Shame.

My wife was heavily pitched for a sales presentation based on the upcoming joining of Disney & Nickelodeon to the Marriott stable. That was news to me <g> but we went to the sales presentation because we figured we'd learn something about the upcoming changes and we needed the points to finish up our disposing of over a million points while they still had value. When our sales agent heard of that pitch, he went a little crazy about it because of course, neither of those entities are part of the acquisitions but apparently using their names works well for the people soliciting the appointments. Just more of the same nonsense.

The ASA's and Sales Reps have a different agenda. The ASA's get paid if they get you to attend. The Sales Reps only get paid if you buy and if you have a low chance of buying, it hurts them to a degree in that they might have had a better sales chance with better leads and they are also judged based on their closing %.
