Hello,
I am new to TUG and would like to introduce myself (or ourselves). We bought a Stormy Point, Branson,Mo, timeshare one year ago. We had planned to use it this past Oct., however, my husband had to have heart bypass surgery and we could not. Luckily, they let us bank the week to this year. We are so new to this we don't even know where to start. We do suspect we are too old to have begun this phase of our travels, but since it is done, I was encouraged by this board to just accept it and try to enjoy it. We hope to take a week at Stormy Pt and then thru II hopefully somewhere in the Tahoe area. Any encouragement, advice, etc. would be helpful.

Hope the husband is doing well... relax, accept it and try to enjoy it. Timesharing is a good value if you learn how to make the most of it. Read, Read, Read every post, you'll learn. Welcome aboard.

Welcome to TUG--you've come to the right place for timeshare info and lots of other stuff, too. If you haven't already done so, you might want to check out the TUG advice pages that you can find by clicking on "Advice" on the red bar at the very top of the page.

I'm not familiar with II as all my timeshares are with RCI, but generally, if you want to trade, it helps to deposit your week as far in advance as possible. You have the right idea in using your Branson week yourself as that is usually the best use of your ownership (especially if you bought from the developer) because you don't have to incur exchange fees. I say that because if you bought from the developer you paid top dollar for that unit and you may or may not get something in exchange that you'd feel was worth all the money you paid. (At least that's how I feel with the timeshare we bought from the developer.)

But, timesharing has lots of rewards and you'll learn all about them the more time you spend here.:)

Welcome to TUG

Congratulations bob and pat on finding TUG. There are lots of timeshare experts posting a wealth of information on this website to help you learn the ropes. We had a great vacation in Branson last April with a trade to the French Quarter. We really enjoyed a variety of shows and hope you experience joy and happiness in your timeshare for many years to come.

JUST HOW OLD ARE YOU?

IM OLDER THAN DIRT....

Raising kids, going to soccer games, etc. working my fingers to the bones. Well, Im old enough to know what a good vacation and young enough to enjoy it.

When you have something happen (like heart operations) or in my case a back operation, it tends to make us think whats important in our lives. I dont want to be one of those people who said "I was gonna....." I want to be one of those people who said "I did it" Cant say as I always did it real good or graceful, but I tried and I was smiling when "I did it". :hysterical:

You will be suprised with a little education and a spirit of adventure, how much fun and inexpensive traveling like a queen can be. Read alot and ask questions.

Good Luck..

Welcome and I hope your spouse has a full recovery.

No matter what you age is, it is a perfect age to travel. I am 63 and have been doing bit a timeshare traveling since I retired in the sprind of 2001.

We will be looking fowards to checking into Your beautifull Stormy Point resort on November 11,2007.

Being members of RCI weeks and II there are so great great accomadations in Branson than it is hard not to try one of the 32 different ones.

We have been to Branson about 7 times at about 7 differant resorts and have enjoyed all of the lovely units at these resorts.

In 2005 we stayed at the Marriot Horizons.

In 2006 we enjoyed staying at the Bluegreen Wilderness Club on one trip and The Cabins at Green Mountain which is Stormy Points sister resort on another 2006 trip.

But when we tourned one of the finished 2 bedroom units at Stormy Point we were so impressed that because as soon as we gone home we reserved a week there for this year.

I would rate your resorts units only a little behind the Bluegreen Wilderness out of the 32 great resorts in Branson.

I hope you get to use your World Class unit asap as possible.

Bruce :D
