Hawaiian Airlines will be starting daily service from Oakland to Honolulu on May 1st. The press release says that Hawaiian's Flight 47 will depart Oakland daily at 9:00 a.m. and arrive in Honolulu at 11:05 a.m. Return Flight 48 will depart Honolulu daily at 1:30 p.m. and arrive in Oakland at 9:25 p.m.
Tickets went on sale this morning. We had 9 people traveling on ATA this June. Five of us have already rebooked on American from SFO, but I called to price HA tickets for the remaining four. For the dates we needed in June, the price for OAK-HNL was $1049.90; for OAK-LIH the price was $1611.90. (That's per ticket!)
I haven't been able to check on the HA website yet-- they haven't added Oakland to their dropdown menu. I may try to call back later this morning to doublecheck on the prices. The agent I spoke with first told me that Hawaiian didn't fly from Oakland. After I told her about the new flights, she pulled up the prices. Maybe she entered something incorrectly in the system... or maybe Hawaiian thinks they can get those prices since they will now be the only carrier flying to Hawaii from Oakland.
