The Beach Club at St. Augustine Beach, FL (1 floating week, purchased in 1982)

77,000 RCI points (Sunrise Ridge Resort, TN)
Lakeshore Lodge will be a new DVC resort.

I stopped reading about it, but there's a 1-year-old thread about it on the Disney Boards and it's still highly active.

It's pretty much at the edge for Fort Wilderness so they may merge the cabins (which have very high MFs) into that new resort to make them a more viable product with lower MFs (just speculation).

The question was it this new property going to be a timeshare or a resort?
Looks more liked an up scale resort.

Is it 100% DVC? I haven't followed it but recall the original concept of Reflections was to be part timeshare part Disney hotel resort.

It was originally hideous looking (imho), then it was shelved for a number of years. Was supposed to be mixed use….but if I recall correctly they refiled permits and other stuff. The DVC Cabins are not structured like traditional DVC….it is beyond my knowledge, but it has something to do with a trust, not deeds/points. So not sure if the talk about combining is true. I had no interest in purchasing the cabins after hearing about this and surely will not be interested in adding on if the new place is the same. I can stay there if I want using my points, but haven’t had the desire since all units are dog friendly. The info I’ve received from DVC leads me to believe it will be all DVC. It is right behind the place where Hoop De Doo musical review is. Close to the lake and boat transportation. A great spot…..I believe it is where the original water park was….back in the 70’s. The name escapes me but was loads of fun.

The original water park was River Country.

The DVC cabins being a trust is because they aren’t actually real estate. There was a lot made of the fact that the way DVD wrote the underlying documents allowed them to create a multi location trust product…but thus far they haven’t done anything with that.

And lastly, I think the latest rumor is that the new resort is 100% DVC. If I cared I would read the latest info on the disboards to find out.

Probably not 100%, but here is what the current developer purchase documents (when purchasing at a different resort) say about it:

Obviously, you never know if another pandemic starts and the world shuts down, but the fact that it's mentioned in this manner makes me believe that, if completed, it will definitely be part of DVC. Whether they keep some hotel rooms on the Disney Resorts side is always possible and while it's in ongoing sales they do rent it at cash rates since it takes a few years to sell out a resort.

Does anyone know if they will be reopening the walking path between Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness?

Time will tell. I’d much rather walk or bike than take boats. Did it close when construction started many years ago and was then abandoned? Now being resurrected…would be nice to have it back. But have not heard anything from any reliable sources.

I was thinking about the discussions regarding the DVC cabins becoming part of the Lakeside Resort. I can see DVC giving pool and recreation facility rights to Cabin owners…..I think they share with Fort Wilderness, I don’t recall anything special like a new pool for the cabins.

The walking path closed at the start of construction. I really hope they reopen it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they reopened the path after construction is complete OR the nature trail will be the new route from FW to WL through the new resort.

I don’t recall anything special like a new pool for the cabins.
An additional pool is currently under construction next to the Meadows pool at FW. I don’t remember what details have been posted about it, unfortunately.
