The offer is a little odd, but might work out for MF's.

What AMEX are you seeing this on? I'm not seeing it on any of mine (including my personal and business Bonvoy AMEXs).

I have a Marriott Bevy card.

I have a Marriott Bevy card.
I have not seen this yet on my Brillant, or any other Amex yet, but will keep an eye for it. Often these offers exclude some brands, usually including the Timeshare brands...

Here are the terms:

ENROLLMENT/ELIGIBLE CARDS: Enrollment limited. Must first add offer to eligible Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only purchases made with a Marriott Bonvoy® American Express® Card, Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card, and Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card are eligible. Once you add the offer to your eligible Card, you will have 90 days to redeem. Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to Basic Card Member. Offer is non-transferable. Qualifying PURCHASES: A "qualifying purchase" means a purchase made with your enrolled Card within 90 days upon adding the offer to your Card in accordance with these terms. Each time you make one or more eligible purchases totaling at least $4,500+, you will receive 8,500 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points, up to 3 times. Cash advances, other fees and charges such as interest, annual fees and foreign currency conversion fees are not qualifying purchases and do not qualify for this offer. You may not receive bonus Marriott Bonvoy points if we receive inaccurate information or are otherwise unable to identify your purchase as qualifying for the offer. For example, you may not receive the bonus Marriott Bonvoy points if (a) the merchant uses a third-party to sell their products or services; or (b) the merchant uses a third-party to process or submit your transaction to us (e.g., using mobile or wireless card readers); or (c) you choose to make a purchase using a third-party payment account or make a purchase using a mobile or digital wallet. Purchases may fall outside of the offer period in some cases due to a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction (for example, the purchase date for online orders may be the shipping date). Bonus Marriott Bonvoy points will be credited to your member account within 90 days after the offer end date, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items/services from your qualifying purchase have been provided/shipped by merchant. We may not credit bonus Marriott Bonvoy points to, or we may take away bonus Marriott Bonvoy points that have been credited to, your member account if the qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your purchase as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the bonus Marriott Bonvoy points. EARNING POINTS/ADDITIONAL TERMS: Limit 1 enrolled Card per American Express Card online account. The enrolled Card account must be active, not be past due, canceled or have a returned payment outstanding to receive the bonus Marriott Bonvoy points. These bonus Marriott Bonvoy points are in addition to any Marriott Bonvoy points you would normally receive for purchases on your Card under the terms of the Marriott Bonvoy member account, but the number of bonus Marriott Bonvoy points you receive will be based on the purchase price after any credit or other discount is applied. Amex Offers are available for varying and limited periods of time and are dynamic and personalized. If you navigate away from the Amex Offers page, you may see different offers when you return. For questions regarding your Card Account, please call the number on the back of your Card. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer. ©2023 Marriott International, Inc. All Rights Reserved. I don't see it either on any of my Amex Marriott cards (Brilliant, or the original $95 annual fee one)

What if they disclosed the approximate $ value of these 8,500 bonus Bonvoy points in use. 8,500 points sounds like a lot, but they are just not worth that much in anymore. Whoopee Bonvoy! The Bonvoy mirage is just that.

I figured a Bonvoy point was worth about $0.0033 in my last transaction.

That was a very very poor use of points for that redemption for it to be that low!

I target redemptions where I get at least $0.01 per Bonvoy point- otherwise I just pay cash instead of using points!

The Points Guy valuation is $0.008/pt.

Was your redemption with such an awful value for a hotel stay? Or did you redeem points for something else? (Which is almost always the worst use of points.)

Curious, because if used for MF, wouldn't that count as 6x points + the bonus 8500 points? I imagine they would let that go through?
I expect a Marriott charge to hit my card in a few days that should qualify for the 8,500 points. I will report back.

Ok, that 8,500 points is worth between $85 and $28. Each has to decide whether the chase is worth it and that's ok.

The charge from Marriott Vacation Club I was expecting hit my card today and I received an email congratulating me for using an enrolled Amex offer. I believe I will get 6x points + 8,500.

It's a nice added bonus to the 6X we already get. I will be taking advantage as the fees come due.

...and then Marriott DEVALUES Bonvoy points, yet again, the they are even worth less. Race to the bottom with all these reward point systems - inflation was a thing with Marriott Reward Points/Bonvoy even before the Pandemic hit.

There are a few good values for point usage out there. Planning a 10 night trip to the Maldives (options St Regis, Ritz Charlton, W and JW Marriott) in 2024 and looking at between $0.015 and $0.02 per point. Not bad as we would not make the trip if we had to pay for the room.

There are definitely valuable redemptions out there. I always get at least 0.01/pt and have gotten as high as 0.035/pt in the last couple of years. People just have to look for them and not blindly redeem points for terrible valuations which are also out there!
