New $500 transfer fee for DVC resales starts in January

This article contains specifics - https://dvcnews.com/dvc-program-men...ey-vacation-club-adds-new-resale-transfer-fee.

I hope they’re more efficient than Wyndham seems to be with their $399 fee.
Probably much better. Wyndham is  I don't want to read all of that advertisement and gobbledygook. Is Disney going to charge a high fee for internal transfer, or are they going to also record with the county for the buyers?

How much is it? The article is awful to try to read.

It’s $500 per closing, which most people assume means per contract. I also assume that only includes transferring the contract from the seller’s DVC membership to the buyer’s, creating a new membership when needed, etc. The title company usually takes care of creating the new deed and filing it with the county, then forwarding the new deed to DVC.

I wonder what the highest transfer fee is by brand?

Technically not a transfer fee, but Marriott charges a minimum of $3000 to point purchases. Technically it is an initiation fee. The transfer fee is only $25. Many Mexico properties charge a fee that is a multiplier of the maintenance fee. So it can get into the thousands.

Hyatt charges approximately $500 to transfer ownership

It doesn’t state it in the article but all resale contracts that are signed by12/31/25 will not be subject to the new $500 fee even if closing takes place well after January 1st.
