I booked a timeshare 3 weeks ago and guess what??!! May not be able to use it. I have been trying to locate the cancellation breakdown (date specific to losing partial and all of it and how much I'll cost) but I can't find it on their website or my confirmation. I have been reading about the RCI travel insurance too and trying to weigh my options. The travel insurance option at least for the $100 credit is only valid for 8 more days...

Thanks!

I did a search under Help. I assume it is a Weeks exchange

RCI Weeks Exchange Cancellation Policy
Any change to your confirmed travel dates constitutes cancellation of your exchange and is subject to our standard cancellation guidelines. When cancellation is made 61 days or more prior to your confirmed travel dates, $129 USD ($137 CAD) of your original exchange fee is retained by RCI. Should cancellation be requested 60 days or fewer prior to travel, no portion of your exchange fee is refundable. However, in either case, your deposited week will be eligible for a new exchange.

Vacations cannot be cancelled online. If you need to cancel a confirmed exchange, please call a Vacation Guide at 800/338-7777 for assistance

You may not be able to cancel. All reservation booked within 21 days of the check-in date are non-cancellable or refundable - even if done within 24 hours of the initial booking. This is different than the normal booking policy

You must be talking about your exchange into Disney's Old Key West.........Jackie, it will cost you $129. :(

Cindy,
you are SO right about which exchange!!! My sister just found out that she's gonna be a grandma again (her 2nd) and my niece is due October 21st! I am happy but yet sad and disappointed :ignore: I'm not sure what we're going to do yet.... Probably cancel :bawl:

I can empathize with you, believe me. Actually, we didn't schedule our trip for the fall until we were safe for our daughter's second due date. She isn't expecting yet, so we know we are safe until at least November now.

Anyone use the cancellation insurance option that is within 30 days of confirmation? I'm a bit confused. I have a couple questions.

Since I already know that I will cancel, should I do it in two different phone calls? pay insurance then call next day and cancel?

I paid $164 for the original exchange, if I pay $49 for insurance I get a $100 credit so it costs me $51 for the cancellation vs. losing $129. Is that right or am I confusing apples and oranges?
