I have an opportunity to pick up an annual Vistana Villages (Key West) 2br l/o platinum (95,700 star options) for around $8K. I would use it exclusively for the star options. My preference would be to buy a WKV 1br platinum, so I could use it if I couldn't get a star option trade (we probably would only use it at the Big 3, WKV or WMH - platinum season only).

Is the price too good to pass up, or should I pass and hold out for the 1br WKV platinum that meets our needs better. I only have 24 hours to decide.

Edit to add: I'd also consider locking it off and trading it in II if it traded well, but I'm not so sure I want an Orlando Florida trader - not a good trader?

I passed on it and got a 81k VV. I did see that one sold on ebay for 14k a few weeks ago, it could be a great price. If you buy it, don't forget to ask for the $220 full price tug discount, and send readyalready a nice thank you. I liked the underlying week, would also never really use it.

I think you'll pay a few more thousand for the WKV, but will make up the difference in MF in just a few years. I originally didn't think that the extra 15k options would be of much use. Today I could only get a 44k point reservation and now have 37k left, which will be hard to use for a full week. If I had 51k I'd have a few more options (literally and figuratively).

I think it also depends on how patient you are. Are you willing to look for weeks and months for the WKV? If you love the hunt, then hold out.

Not a good trader but it's a very good price. At this point, I would ask yourself which you would use? Sounds like you wouldn't use Orlando at all but maybe you'd want to be at WKV. I would buy there.

Also, WKV is much more unique and a little more upper class in it's design and furnishings. I think it will hold it's value much more than an Orlando timeshare, just due to the suplly and demand plus the WKV luxury.

Finding an 81,000 WKV is really hard though, unless you get a gold LO 2BR. There is one on eBay right now I think (or it might have just sold for around $8000). But the MF are higher on the 2BR even though you can lock it off and use it for 2 weeks.
