"Neat Receipts" anyone?

Considering getting the small scanner bar for year end taxes (receipts), which usually takes a couple days manually....Anyone use one? Does it work well? Is it worth it to spend $450 for "Neat Desk"? Thanks all....

I've noticed that item too, but didn't think the price was so high. Is there a more generic version available? I thought I've seen them on sale for under $100.

My concern with them is that you would still need to have the original receipt for any store returns. I doubt they would take something printed off.

I have looked at them. They do look interesting and many also have OCR software so many of the numbers and payee information can be captured for importing in to financial software. I would be interested in hearing other peoples experiences also.

I didn't like it. Was a memory hog. I now use Visioneer- Strobe XP200 with Paperport and love it. Great prices on Ebay.

I bought it, tried to load it and it froze up my computer so I removed it and am too afraid to try again...I got it for less at Costco..I hope I can get it working.. according to their claims, IRS will accept it in place of all the receipts
